I'm definitely a Joomla Noobe. I downloaded a free template from one of the Joomla sites and uploaded it to my site. It looks great, but I was unable to change the header section due to permissions.

I tried resetting permissions, but Cpanel wouldn't let me. Any ideas?

Thanks!

You have two options:

1. Uninstall the template, make necessary changes in your local computer and then reinstall the template.
2. SSH to your template directory then chown your template directory to your cpanel username like this: chown -R directoryname cpanelusername

If you don't have experience to do SSH I suggest to choose first option.

Hi.

There is JoomlaXplorer extension available, which helps if you upload or install anything in Joomla and later can't edit files due to permissions. In this extension you can easily edit, upload, delete files and more.
