View Full Version : Need help with Bulkregister
EasySite 07-16-2002, 04:29 PM I have a customer who purchased three domain names from a Bulkregister.com reseller. The reseller decided they didn't want to be in business anymore and promptly shut everything off including the hosting account.
My customers name and business name is in the administrative contact section of the domain.
The domains can not be administered through email because the email address no longer exists.
My customer has had only one response from bulkregister and they had him fax everything but the kitchen sink but has gotten no response. He has called the customer service line at 410.234.3309 but gets no one on the phone and they do not call back.
This has been going on for three months and he has sent over 15 emails and faxed the information several times to make sure it went through.
If someone has a bulkregister account and can help with this situation I would gladly suggest that they transfer the three names to your account.
Thank you in advance for your help.
thewitt 07-16-2002, 07:42 PM This post is a great response to the "What happens if my reseller goes away" threads, or the "What difference does it make where I register my domains" threads.
Particularly for those of you who keep giving out the same old advice that neither item makes and difference.
I'm sorry you are stuck EasySite. Do you believe these domains would be transferrable? Perhaps the easiest path is to transfer to another registrar who offers what you want and provides the level of support you need.

EasySite 07-16-2002, 08:27 PM Thanks for the response thewitt.
I have a enom account but all the domains have the transfer block on, so they are unable to transfer to another registrar.
They can however be transferred to another reseller within Bulkregister.com.
thewitt 07-16-2002, 10:06 PM That sucks.
Will you even be able to change reseller accounts at BulkRegister with the transfer lock on? OpenSRS does not allow even this type of transfer with domain locking enabled.

DotComster 07-16-2002, 10:07 PM Hi EasySite,
Please PM the domains, and few more details. BulkRegister is very touchy about domain ownership as every good registrar should be.
I can not transfer the domains to my account personaly, not even with your customers permision - but I can talk to BR support about this for you.
Acroplex 07-16-2002, 11:29 PM Shame also the good registrars are banned in this forum ;)
DynastyHost 07-17-2002, 12:03 AM Contact Bulkregister and they can help you.

Yes, it is a shame they used another user name to spam the forum. But we've already covered that and I don't expect it to be brought up in future threads.
Acroplex 07-17-2002, 01:30 AM Oops!
DotComster 07-17-2002, 05:20 AM I just emailed BulkRegister - sorry it took so long, but I be busy these days :D
timechange - It's best to lay off the subject. That "other" registrar is banned from WHT forever - their choice, let's leave it at that. Off topic anyway.
<<MOD NOTE: They aren't banned forever, just 90 days>>
mlovick 07-17-2002, 07:34 AM I can accept them on my bulkregister handle for you (no cost) and then you can perform a registrar transfer to enom and I will auth the change if you like. If you want to do this then PM me and I will send you the handle to put the domains onto.
EasySite 07-17-2002, 09:56 AM Thank you all for your help, especially DotComster. I received an email from Bulkregister this morning with instructions on what my customer needs to do.

I been trying to transfer domains from bulkregister to Enom for days, have send them several emails. Seems like they block all request to transfer to Enom.
DotComster 07-18-2002, 05:34 AM You are very welcome EasySite :)
Eddie - BR mostly responds to it's resellers best. Please MP mlovick or me the domains in question?

Oh Crap... Glad he didnt take me up on the offer - last thing I need right now is MORE stress
DotComster 07-20-2002, 03:47 AM He didn't take me up on it either mlovick - we should ask BR for an extra comesion on these things :)
EasySite 07-20-2002, 09:38 AM Just to update you on the original topic. Bulkregister did finally make the changes to the domains but denied the request to transfer to any other reseller until they can verify that the original reseller is not avaliable.
I want to thank DotComster again and note that even though I offered to pay for his time he graciously declined any payment.
There are not many people left in the world like this.
To Mlovic, if they do allow the transfer I will gladly take you up on your offer and pay you for the cost of a year of registration for each of the three names. I have to wait three more business days and if the original reseller doesn't contact me or the customer, then I can file a complaint.
Eddie
If you haven't gotten anything settled with BR, you may want to take these guys up on their offer to help. My customer had been trying with absolutly to replies from bulkregister for three months.
I wouldn't have belived it other than I tried to contact them myself by phone and email and couldn't get a single reply. I have no Idea why they would treat people this way.
All it took was a simple request from DotComster and it was like some switch got turned on. All my emails were replied to, even the ones that were several weeks old and one of my phone calls was returned. It is like they don't want to deal with anyone who is not their customer for any reason.
That's why I work with Enom. They are professional and courteous to everyone and happy to answer any questions. Their phone number is even proudly displayed on their site.
