Hi,
I've been aware of copyscape for some time, but last night thought I'd run my site through their search.
I was really interested to find that my SEO page were I explain about SEO and how it works, http://www.canzdesign.com/content.php?pageid=57 had been used on a few sites, most were just the odd paragraph here and there, which is acceptable as far as I'm concerned, however one site has used my content for 99% of their SEO page.... the only thing they didn't snaffle was the hedgehog graphics. lol....

I'm so impressed with copyscape.com I think I'll get membership with them, try running your site through, do one of your obscure pages, and copyscape will show you what pages on your site they have indexed.

We've tracked down and killed about a half-dozen copy sites as a result of Copyscape. It's a great service :)

Three cheers for DMCA notifications - they work like a charm!

Hi The PM.
I really like your website, love that picture on your web design page... if fact so much I just stole it.... only kidding nice site though. Love your signature too :)Thanks canz :) You wouldn't want to steal the picture, because it came from Getty images, and Getty beats up people who don't pay for their images, bad! We've seen some horror stories on WHT about people who have received $x,xxx - $xx,xxx bills from Getty after their designers stole images and used them on their sites.

So, on top of a DMCA notice, we can also alert Getty to sites that steal from us, and they'll take legal action if necessary. It's worth the extra money for their photographs :)

Visiting Copyscape was interesting, but visiting Getty was more fun! What a great site to spend an hour browsing around.

I'm new to WHT, and one of the best things about my experience so far has been the links provided in various commentaries, and the websites of so many of the participants.

One of my competitors for one of my online retail websites copied our whole faq section and other parts of our website. We told them about this and they made some changes. What is funny is that they now have a copyscape code on their site.

What i want to know is will people now think that we are copying him when they click the copyscape link on his website and type in his url? I think that is what he is aiming for.
