Is there any free Status2k alternative around?

hyperspin.com I think

hyperspin is a service which just detects if your service/site is down and alerts it over email/msn.

But status2k basically shows you various realtime activities going on your server. Its a script that you need to host yourself.

Was looking to have more info actually.

top process, apache logtail... something to catch if a client eating up too much resource or if anything fishy going on...

i have been using phpSysInfo 2.5.2 thiugh... havent tried out 2.5.3 yet.

he want a FREE $0 dollar software. I think the developer deserve that $15 for the time spend creating it..

You could just get together with a friend and buy it.

Or install nagios you are not going to get something for nothing at least you are going to have to do some work for it if you don't or won't pay the $$.

While designed for use on a Linux Virtuozzo or OpenVZ VPS (Virtual Private Server), vpsinfo also works fine on a dedicated server. When installed on a dedicated machine VPS-specific information is automatically excluded.

And if you really like Status2k and really want to have it then Perpetual License - $59.95 is not costly at all. You can pay them using Paypal, Credit Card, but in case you do not have them, still you can pay Wire Transfer, Wester Union, Demand Draft etc.

If you think its too much hassle then that means its not worth it for you, then why after this script.

The hassle might be worth for a $1000 wire transfer. But not for $15 or even $50.

There is a good open source alternative for almost everything.

I never said i want Status2k without paying for it. I am looking for a free/open source ALTERNATIVE.

All open source scripts that come close to Status2k require a great deal of installation. I would be willing to work out a bank transfer or another method of payment if you prefer?
