![]() | View Full Version : Free Status2k alternative? dotcomUNDERGROUND 06-04-2007, 09:21 AM Is there any free Status2k alternative around? Frimon86 06-04-2007, 09:30 AM hyperspin.com I think dotcomUNDERGROUND 06-04-2007, 09:45 AM hyperspin is a service which just detects if your service/site is down and alerts it over email/msn. But status2k basically shows you various realtime activities going on your server. Its a script that you need to host yourself. Techark 06-04-2007, 09:59 AM http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpsysinfo/ Zonkers UK 06-04-2007, 10:52 AM You can try PHPsysinfo I have both running and i prefer Stats2k Thanks -p9- 06-04-2007, 12:01 PM Would Nagios does the same thing ? dotcomUNDERGROUND 06-04-2007, 06:09 PM Would Nagios does the same thing ? too complex for me to install :$ dotcomUNDERGROUND 06-04-2007, 06:15 PM http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpsysinfo/ Was looking to have more info actually. top process, apache logtail... something to catch if a client eating up too much resource or if anything fishy going on... i have been using phpSysInfo 2.5.2 thiugh... havent tried out 2.5.3 yet. Zonkers UK 06-04-2007, 06:15 PM Have you looked at http://www.betterbeup.com/ free monitoring of sites and usefull info to on stats Tony dotcomUNDERGROUND 06-04-2007, 06:35 PM Have you looked at http://www.betterbeup.com/ free monitoring of sites and usefull info to on stats Tony only service status, load, and disk usage.... right? lonea 06-05-2007, 07:24 AM status2k is 15 dollars... Mxhub 06-05-2007, 08:32 AM he want a FREE $0 dollar software. I think the developer deserve that $15 for the time spend creating it.. Vinayak_Sharma 06-05-2007, 10:18 AM http://www.rushland.net/projects.htm http://www.nexusportal.net/resources/reseller-tools/servermonitor/monitor.php I liked the second one. They are free, try them. Vinayak_Sharma 06-05-2007, 10:23 AM And yes they can't match Status2k. So think again... dotcomUNDERGROUND 06-06-2007, 04:44 AM he want a FREE $0 dollar software. I think the developer deserve that $15 for the time spend creating it.. Its not that. I dont have a cc or paypal :S I can give you 2 domains if you can get me Status2k :P Vinayak_Sharma 06-06-2007, 07:23 AM So what's the problem in getting it directly. Adam H 06-06-2007, 07:30 AM TBH , you get what you pay for. Dont expect too much of these free scripts. :) Its an Unlimited Domain license aswell. You could just get together with a friend and buy it. OR Make your own Script. :D Techark 06-06-2007, 08:05 AM It is $15.00 bucks, wire it to them if you have no other way. Or install nagios you are not going to get something for nothing at least you are going to have to do some work for it if you don't or won't pay the $$. $15.00 for what it does is cheap and the guy deserves something for his work. dotcomUNDERGROUND 06-06-2007, 12:55 PM Perpetual License - $59.95 Aint it $59.95? I am from Bangladesh and its too much hassle for me to send payments like these. Btw a similar script vpsinfo (http://www.labradordata.ca/vpsinfo/) does exist for free. but its only for vps :( Vinayak_Sharma 06-06-2007, 01:27 PM Well if your purpose is to show status to your clients, then this one is good. http://www.nexusportal.net/resources/reseller-tools/servermonitor/monitor.php And BTW from http://www.labradordata.ca/home/13 While designed for use on a Linux Virtuozzo or OpenVZ VPS (Virtual Private Server), vpsinfo also works fine on a dedicated server. When installed on a dedicated machine VPS-specific information is automatically excluded. Vinayak_Sharma 06-06-2007, 01:37 PM And if you really like Status2k and really want to have it then Perpetual License - $59.95 is not costly at all. You can pay them using Paypal, Credit Card, but in case you do not have them, still you can pay Wire Transfer, Wester Union, Demand Draft etc. If you think its too much hassle then that means its not worth it for you, then why after this script. Or is it that you don't want to pay, BTW how are you paying for your server and http://www.domaindokan.com sentest 06-10-2007, 09:49 AM im wonder how the heck you are paying for the server if you have no cc or paypal most company's do accept bank transfers dotcomUNDERGROUND 06-10-2007, 02:30 PM The hassle might be worth for a $1000 wire transfer. But not for $15 or even $50. Status2k is nice.. but nothing THAT great. Vinayak_Sharma 06-10-2007, 03:00 PM Then why you asked in the first palce. Hassle is worth for what you want, reality is you want Status2k and don't want to pay for it. dotcomUNDERGROUND 06-10-2007, 03:38 PM Then why you asked in the first palce. Hassle is worth for what you want, reality is you want Status2k and don't want to pay for it. Whats so wrong in looking for an open source solution? There is a good open source alternative for almost everything. I never said i want Status2k without paying for it. I am looking for a free/open source ALTERNATIVE. scribby 06-11-2007, 07:18 PM All open source scripts that come close to Status2k require a great deal of installation. I would be willing to work out a bank transfer or another method of payment if you prefer? |
