My computer had problems as I loaded an upgrade to the computer, it messed up, it got formatted, by HP recovery system, is there anyway to get files from that format, it was just your stand format C:/s, please help me your are my only hope.

Well, you lost me somewhere.
IF you mean that you formatted your hard drive with the HP recovery system. Then there is no way you can get the files back.

Yes, there is. but it costs.
Jay, is right, you can get the data back. Well atleast a large portion of it.
It would be costly though.... sure glad I never needed too....

Probably a timely reminder to mention you really should save important files to an external source (such as Zip disks). I got a little cocky once and stopped doing it for a while. Sure enough, bang goes the comp, along with about 6 months of stuff I would have felt better keeping. Of course Zips aren't total protection either but it's a start.
I know a guy who stores the financial records of his business on his laptop. He told me once he hopes his computer never dies as it's the only current record of close to 10 years worth of data... *shudder*
