Greetings,

I know that the following questions is very simple but I can't find a solution for it, so I'm turning to this board for help.

One of my clients requested an MX change so he could use everyone.net. I went to the WebHost Manager and added everything he asked me (I checked the info with everyone.net and it was correct) to his DNS entry, but for some reason it's just not working.

I suspect that the MX record is conflicting with the existing POP3 accounts that he has on his account.

So how do I fix it?

Best regards,
Boris

I'm not sure how WHM handles it's DNS, but did you reboot the DNS server after making the changes?

It's being automatically reloaded when you make changes.

Changes to the DNS server can take some time to take effect. If you have telnet access go into telnet, and ping the mail server. See weather or not it points to everyone.net, or your own server. If it points to your own server, the dns changes haven't taken effect. If it points to everyone.net it just means that you have to wait for the changes to be avalible world wide.

Hope that make sence :)

Try to type:
dig thatdomain.ext MX

If the result has already point to everyone.net then your setting is OK.

If it's not, try to open thatdomain.ext .db/zone file and edit it manually.
