I sent about 2-3 emails to HostRocket and have yet a response. Anyone current host with them as a dedicated server?

What i am interested in knowning is how much bandwidth your allocated, if the NOC is monitored 24 hours, and if the demo c/p they got on their site comes with each server

As for VDI, anyone got any gruges against them? How stable and fast is their network? whos their major backbones?

For both: I got totally burned in the past with regards to catalog.com etc where i setup a ping for a whole week, looked great and signed up, then learned the server was on a completely different network then catalog.com (and a few others)

Anyone got any ips or hosts they can help me out in that area? VDI seems to never have their Humanclick on and HostRocket never answers their emails

Thanks!

Though I have no server with them, I think I can answer your question since I already talk to their sales several weeks ago.

The dedicated servers packages does not come with any bandwith. You have to purchase them extra. The price for bandwith goes as high as $5/GB (10GB pre-purchase) to as low as $3/GB (100GB pre-purchase). I think they do have 24x7 staff on the NOC. The control panel and web host manager is $25/mo extra. However, their dedicated servers packages do come with (automated?) billing and support manager, something you would probably be really interested. You can see this information at their homepage.

So far I have nothing against VDI. I really loves their connectivity. They are in the process of upgrading their conenctivity (80GBps) to New York City. See this thread by William, the owner of VDI (http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=5905&pagenumber=2). If this upgrade takes place, then I believe their connectivity will be even faster. However, this is only true for access inside the US. I once tested their connectivity from a server in Hong Kong and it seems they are slower than http://www.maxim.net, makes sense since the data package was travelling from Hong Kong to California and then to New Jersey whereas maxim.net is located in California. So... it depends on what your target market is.... But since I think you will be operating for US market, you should be all fine going with them. I am also not sure about their major backbone provider.

Hmm... not sure what you are asking, but there are several companies that uses VDI as their NOC, including venturesonline.com, wizardhosting.com, jaguarpc.com, interserver.net, hostrocket.com, any other I have missed? I personally like venturesonline.com and interserver.net. You may want to check them both... Good luck...

VDI have a good fast NOC. All of our customers noticed when we moved from Alabanza to VDI because of the speed increase and we are in the UK so it was a plesent surprise to see such a big increase in speed.

I suggest you send a computer to VDI and they will maintain it for you 24/7. Why should you get a dedicated server through other hosting companies, when can get strait from VDI.

We can just confirm last posts: we had a few machines at Alabanza and DI and since we've moved to Vdi customers are not stopping thanking us for that good choice.
Speed and an excellent web interface made our italian company grow fast and now we own our racks at Vdi selling dedicated also.
I think we will thank William for his good support and help in moving our accounts.
