Blesta is a new, professional, automated billing and account management system. It was designed with hosting companies in mind but its framework is flexible enough to support almost any recurring service based company. Blesta is nearing private beta and we are looking for testers.

Beta testers will receive a free "owned license" after the beta phase.

A little more about Blesta:

Blesta is designed to do what you need it to do, and nothing more. Other billing apps are so complicated that you need to take a class to understand them. We think it should be simple and straight forward. If you like to waste time figuring things out, or clicking on fancy widgets that serve no productive purpose, then Blesta is not for you.

Blesta is modular. It supports modules such as cPanel, and others can be written by anyone with basic knowledge of PHP. Payment gateways such as Authorize.net are supported as well, and others can be written.

Blesta is template based. The look & feel of Blesta is fully brandable. Just write a new template (Or copy/modify the default one), drop it in and select it from a drop down list.

Blesta makes pretty, customizeable PDF invoices that you can print and mail in double-windowed envelopes... or have Blesta email them out as attachments to your customers.

To learn more about Blesta, test out the online DEMO, or sign-up to beta test it visit www.blesta.com (http://www.blesta.com).

From all of us on the Blesta dev team, thanks for taking the time to read this post, and hope to hear from you soon!

Does it *require* PHP 5, or is PHP 4 ok?

Blesta does require PHP 5. We used a lot of the OOP methods in PHP 5 to control the module system. PHP 5 has really allowed us to create a more robust, secure app. It was a tough decision, but we felt the object oriented programming features in PHP 5 were way superior to that in PHP 4, and we were thinking to the future.

I see nothing about domains names...
How are domains billed to the customers?

There will be domain modules, for registrars such as enom. You could create a package around that to sell domains, and we'll provide sample order forms for domain+hosting purchases.

Blesta is not *only* a web hosting app. It's framework is very flexible and can be used for almost any recurring service based company.
