The purpose of this thread is to document our bad experience dealing with resellerconnection.com (http://www.resellerconnection.com) and to warn future advertisers.
In short, we purchased 1 month of advertising after they claimed to deliver more than 100k impressions per month. A week went by, we checked the online stat and realized we would only get 3 to 4k impressions in a month, which is FAR BELOW what they claimed. We contacted them about this and was told they will look into it but since then they had been ignoring us.
Full story:
May 10, 2007 - We contacted them for advertising rates, the sales (Rodney Ringler) offered us a standard banner (468x60) and a skyscraper (120x600) for $425/mo. Like all advertisers, we asked how much impressions we will receive. Their response: "You should receive over a hundred thousand impressions from each banner". Based on this claim, we decided to give them a try and sent them the payment (see attachment #1).
May 15, 2007 - Sent them the banners and the campaign was set up the same day, you can still see our banners on their website (http://www.resellerconnection). We were provided with online access to the advertiser's report. Everything was good up to this point.
May 24, 2007 - We logged in to view the advertiser's report. To our surprise, we were only getting about 100 views per day (see attachment #2). At this rate, we will only get 3 to 4k impressions per month (which is far less than the claimed 100k impressions). We sent an email to voice our concern and were told "Let me investigate and see what is happening with the campaign and traffic". That was the last email they care to send.
May 27, 2007 - Followed up with them to see if they have found anything - no response.
May 29, 2007 - At this point, it was obvious that they lied to us. They will never be able to deliver 100k impressions, not even 10% of this! Essentially, we paid $425 for 3-4k impressions, this means the effective rate is more than $100 CPM (a ridiculous rate if I must say)! In fact, we were not really expecting full 100k impressions; as long as we stay within $20 CPM, we will be happy. The fact that they tricked us into paying so much money for so little traffic really got me furious. We no longer wanted to continue advertising with them, and sent them an email to request for the ad to be stopped and a 50% refund be sent (for the UNUSED advertising period). We were hoping to solve this issue peacefully, looks like it was a wishful dream.
May 30, 2007 - We proceeded to solve this issue "formally" by filing a PayPal dispute. Same thing, nothing from them.
May 31, 2007 - I am spending my beautiful day writing this wonderful review of resellerconnection.com . Their unethical business practices should be made known to the public.
ResellerConnection will lie to you and trick you into advertising with them. Beware if you ever consider advertising with them. Good luck.
