View Full Version : Grrrrrr
clocker1996 07-16-2002, 12:13 AM Guess what just happend?
Awhile back someone paid me $225 through paypal, and guess what?
Now paypal emails me saying
"We have just been informed that you have received funds from
an account with reports of fraudulent credit card use.
Details of the transaction and this case are as follows:"
bah blah blah
why does have to happen to me
I hope this doesn't turn into one of those paypal horror stories
SIGH
THey gave me a link in my email to go to so we can "resolve" the issue, but when i go there all i get is
We are experiencing temporary difficulties. Please try again later.
Error 3005
SIGH

ScottD 07-16-2002, 12:15 AM That's a major drag. Anyone we should be aware of?
Good luck recovering your moneys.
clocker1996 07-16-2002, 12:21 AM well as of right now
my paypal account isnt frozen or anything
from what i can see, they just want me to click on the link and get this resolved..???
But the link doesn't even work
SoftWareRevue 07-16-2002, 12:23 AM Well, good luck. And keep us updated.
clocker1996 07-16-2002, 12:25 AM thanks. i will.
I'm just sitting here waiting for this damn page to actually load and stop giving me :
We are experiencing temporary difficulties. Please try again later.
Error 3005
[b]I want to get this resolved as soon as possible. You know what kills me the most???
The person who sent me the money, didn't send $225 all at once. They sent 5 payments of $45 which REALLY blows.
That means I have 5 emails with 5 DIFFERENT CASES...
5 different links, can you believe it? :(
This really pisses me off. I have to try to "resolve" FIVE DIFFERENT cases, even though it's all from the SAME person, same paypal email.

yeah
=/
I use paypal to pay for things like servers, i have subscriptions for servers. It wouldn't be good if my account got frozen or something like that.

clocker1996 07-16-2002, 12:36 AM Has this ever happend to anyone before? I'm reading up on paypals website, looking at this currently: http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext&eloc=351&loc=349&unique_id=02101
So it's looking like they won't freeze my account or anything..? can anyone shed some light.
seg fault 07-16-2002, 01:38 AM they treat their merchants like criminals when you receive fraudulant orders.
They also take their sweet time to let you know that its fraud
XcaliburWS 07-16-2002, 01:41 AM Hmm.. that sucks.. :( hope you can get it resolved.
DJiMPaCT 07-16-2002, 01:45 AM Sorry to hear that,
Who was it? Or what was their e-mail? So I can block it.
I think a good idea for a website (if there isn't allready one). Is a list of people NOT to accept money from. And a screenshot of the reason.
clocker1996 07-16-2002, 01:45 AM Does anyone know paypal's number? I hear they have a 1800# but it's really hard to find........??
DJiMPaCT 07-16-2002, 01:50 AM I have it, but I can't find the name of the sender they use. It's not service@paypal or PayPal as the name. If you know the name they send e-mail as I will have it. If not just e-mail them and ask for it. That is what I did.
Jay Suds 07-16-2002, 01:57 AM 650-864-8000, but they seem to be closed ATM.
ServerSonic 07-16-2002, 02:01 AM Their toll free # is 1.888.221.1161 and the hours are 6am to midnight CST which means they would have just closed up for the night.

I called up paypal. They gave me an email address to email, so I did. One of the questions i asked was will my account get frozen over this? I hope not. I've told my clients to "hold onto their money" becuase of this whole mess
