hi im looking for a good Dedicated Servers for online games we play im looking around 40-80 a month is there any good links that mite help me find what im looking for thank you

What game are you looking at? Bandwidth needed?

40-80 will grab you a P4 quality server. Not sufficient to run a stable server for many players.

A P4 Server can hold enough for a single clan on a source game.

Unless you can increase your budget, it is a lot more worthwhile for you to just rent the game servers from a provider.

Will be much easier to find a budget friendly sollution.

Screw that, gameservers.com is NOT the place. Anywhere but here, their so overloaded its not even funny any more. Their reputation holds it. I've got a friend who is with them now for a server and it goes down at least 4 times a day for an hour, I'm more than welcome to give you the ip so you can monitor it yourself if you feel my feedback is wrong.

My CAL team has a server with them, and we've had no problems at all. Constant 100+ fps, only bad thing is that they don't offer boosted servers.

Oh really. What game are you using, Im assuming something counter-strike or close within that? The game I am refering to is for medal of honor, even though Ive never been a gameserver customer or will ever be. I've been on their servers and Im not impressed, some servers work out ok but the rest are bad.

Do you get any lag spikes?

if you are looking to host a few servers on a decent network, with a lower budget have a look at layeredtech.com they have a very nice network for gaming for a budget provider. Stay away from the celerons or semprons for gaming they will not be worth your money.

Look for a p4 2.8+ server that will allow you to host a few gameservers and get your moneys worth.

If you are only looking to have 1 or 2 servers then consider renting from a game server provider of your choosing.

Price should be a factor in your decision also. Usually when you see companies advertising $1/slot you can assume they are putting several games on each machine to offset the server costs so don't expect real great performance..

I've known a couple of hosts that I have been with / worked for, one in paticular since 2005 who provides game servers at $1 a slot. Their still in business and they still counitnue to offer servers at $1 per slot. I would exactly say that every host who offers low priced game servers are going to have bad quality. Some hosts do, sure no lie. But not all of them.

and as far as the $1 per slot goes yes pricing does matter. a $1/slot server can run fantastic until the point where they need to turn an actual profit. Might want to listen to Rich, he has a few game servers under his belt ;)

Have a look at Server Beach ( serverbeach DOT com ) we've been very happy with our servers, however we don't run games and anything other than a basic server is out of your budget.

It's better to get a server from someone who specializes in game servers, unless you want to do some extra research. Usually game server companies will have some test servers that you can try out to see what kind of ping you get - which is critical for any game server. It's all about the network.

Everyone of them sorry. If your selling for $1 / slot you get fantastic speeds when the company is new, but if they want to actually make money it is NOT SUSTAINABLE at that level for quality servers. It just isn't.

If you are just doing mass servers and recognize the transient nature of gamers then thats fine, I guess :rolleyes:

Well I would recommend that you get a bigger budget and go with rich from Defcon for a dedicated server

For Renting one no offense rich but I have a server from stealthservers.net and they have the best Out So far plus they have boosted and they have cool staff
