I don't really wanna break the bank... layer0 05-27-2007, 11:28 PM www.gameservers.com ;) BostonGuru 05-27-2007, 11:38 PM I wouldnt suggest gameservers.com. They have become so huge i heard their QoS is really suffering. I would aim for a smaller company. Beware though of microGSPs, which are usually kiddies running a GSP on one server without supporting their product or delivering real quality. I recommend checking out defconservers.com. The owner, Rich, is a regular on these forums, and is a veteran of the industry. YourWebSpace 05-27-2007, 11:38 PM gameservers.com is good but this probably isn't the best place to ask. I would look for a more gaming oriented forum to ask about this sort of thing. layer0 05-27-2007, 11:42 PM I wouldnt suggest gameservers.com. They look quite good. redcell1 05-27-2007, 11:53 PM I dont mean to be rude but I go with stealthservers.net because the staff is always on Irc and they have the best ping and reg in there game servers and i can tell you that I have been with everyone from gameservers.com to branzone to hypedgaming XeHSean 05-28-2007, 12:10 AM Definately stay away from gameservers.com - they have a horrible reputation. I would recommend that you find a GSP that interests you and ask for a test server, you can never go wrong that way :) Quartz 05-28-2007, 01:23 AM Been using Gameservers.com (Clanservers.com) on and off over the years and have had great success with them during each stead. Whether public or private. Currently holding as 12 man cod2priv with them and enjoy it. PersonalJ 05-28-2007, 08:29 AM I'll throw wolfservers.com out there, a bit cheaper than clanservers and much cheaper than HD-Gaming (Which is geared towards league clans) jtodd 05-28-2007, 08:42 AM http://prize-play.com/ vijay_qualispace 05-28-2007, 01:51 PM gameservers.com is good but this probably isn't the best place to ask. Do you need support setting up and installing mods etc? OR are you just looking for a basic server on good bandwidth? What location are you looking for? Maybe a bit more information will let us assist you better. Also be SURE to make ANY GSP you go with prove they are a real company, lots of "fly by nighters" out there will rip you off. SoftWareRevue 05-28-2007, 10:44 PM Moved to the Emerging Technologies and Markets forum. Bryce|C 05-29-2007, 12:16 AM Gameservers.com is quite a large company, and so far I have had nothing but bad experiences. I have had 3 Counter Strike servers there, and we experience constant ping spikes. Also, due to being such a large company I notice there is no personal feel to it, which is important to me, and I have had trouble with support, they answer the tickets, but it always seems it has to be assigned to someone higher up to answer it, which turns out to take even longer. Just my opinion, I would go for a smaller more personal company. Hope this helps you out. Defcon|Rich 06-02-2007, 01:03 AM Unless you guys have or had a service with the companies you promote I would stick to letting others answer. Whether you are here representing your GSP or other interests is irrelevant. omega36 06-02-2007, 01:50 AM What game, may I ask? Netarus 06-12-2007, 01:27 PM Another good question to ask any GSP is how do they allow you to manage your server? If you can't turn it on and off or if you can't access any of your configuration settings, it will be very frustrating to manage your server. From my understanding, most of the GSPs mentioned so far have a control panel of some sort already. Good luck in your search. Chris |
