I've been using perldesk for the pasts several years now however I'm using a very old version and it seems to be full of bugs/problems lately.

I would update to the latest version of perldesk but I highly dislike the layout of the latest version (the way the admin area is layed out I cannot stand it).

Therefore I would rather find and use another helpdesk altogether. What other decent and affordable helpdesks are out there other than perldesk?

I'm looking for something VERY simplistic and minimal.

Any suggestions?

There are loads of helpdesks out there, Kayako, Auracle, Support Trio. Those are the ones I like the most.

Sitepanel3 is what I consider to be the "php equivalent" of perldesk.

It's very basic, and works well.

If you need more advanced features, then something like kayako or cerberus would be good.
