We have been purchasing SSL certificates from EV1 for over 2 years now and have never had a problem and enjoyed the low price ($14.95 per year).
<rant>
Today I go to their site to renew a SSL certificate and their system rejects my Credit Card info with the error that it doesn't match what the bank has on file. Our company recently changed banks and so I thought I might have hit a keystroke wrong so I double check everything and re-submit. Same error! I call the bank and confirm all our information with them and I have it exactly right.
So now I call EV1/ThePlanet and they tell me I have to email billing and someone will get back with me in 24 - 48 hours. This is simply unacceptable as this SSL is expired and we need to get it back up. I ask to speak to someone in billing and they tell me this is not possible. Finally, they ask me to go to resellone.net and use live chat. I do so and now I am told that our business is using a PO Box for it's mailing address and that is forbidden in their system now.
OK....so now our company can't use EV1/ThePlanet for SSL certificates because they are now excluding EVERYONE with PO Box billing addresses. They told me that they could fax me a form and then I could fax it back to them but I would have to do that each and every time I needed a new SSL or to renew a SSL. This again is unacceptable.
So now our company has to find a new vendor to purchase SSL certificates from because EV1/ThePlanet are now excluding us. This is quite frustrating.
</rant>
Just a heads up to anyone else on our situation who might use them for SSL certs.
