I don't know if this is the right forum for this but if anyone needs hosting with fantastic support...........try dot5hosting.com
I had 6 accounts with Cyberwings when this fiasco started.
One I opened on April 12..........and the page came up for me On May 20.................3 more took 3 and 1/2 weeks to get online....I waited about a week after Cyberwings went down this time and decided to look elsewhere.....................After reading here at the forum and seeing some good reviews for dot5,I decided to give it a try...............I started with just one account to see how it would go...................less than 12 hours from the time I signed up I was back online....................I still find it hard to believe..............So the next day I moved 4 more to dot5 and they also were up in less than 12 hours...............and the support and answers to my questions..............(and there were many) as I am just a grandmother with time on my hands and very little knowledge of html or ftp etc..................They even messaged me on MSN to ask if all was well and did I need additional assistance to get everything up....................I can't comment on uptime as yet but if they care as much about there customers as they seem to I am sure it is going to be great...................Thanks for your time and for listening........................ and I hope I have posted in the right place because I really want people to know how supportive and helpful this company is....................

Looks more like advertising...

it is NICE..................to be ................a.............happy.............customer......................I have looked at a lot of hosting companies in the last 2-3 weeks and I have to say not too many offer instant messaging for answers on problems........................Or if they do they do not advertise it........................I have only been with dot5 a couple of days but if the support deteriorated by 50% it would still be better than many.................and about 400% better than Cyberwings ever was to me....................

IMHO

And if you think this is advertising ................you may be right..........but only in the sense that I am one pleased customer

what do you want? do you want people to say BAD things about a good host to show that they are good?

why would I be advertising? My very first post here was to look for a new host.

I guess if there's no negatives about a company then it'd be considered spam then

Really we never have.. I mean that seems kind of weird.. I cant picture sending a welcome email with "Please go to www.webhostingtalk.com and post positive replys about us" at the bottom.. I mean i guess there is really nothing wrong with it but it just seems as though it would put customers in a weird position.. but more power to them if it works..

no no, Okihost you e-mail them after 3-4 weeks, saying please post your experience at webhostingtalk.com etc...

Hello,
If a customer comes and speaks with us on chat, and say they found us on the web hosting talk forum, we say please feel free to post your comments about our service, good or bad.

If someone comes from google, we do not say, please go to this address and post about us!

I do it for the host i use ;)

Even though the owner didn't ask me, i know it would profit his business ;)

Ok ok, puggy admits good boy ;)

I believe most of dot5's customers come from WHT since they constantly advertise here.. Maybe you should put your customers recommendations in 1 thread instead of hundreds popping up every minute ;)

But nevertheless its good to see a host recommended around here.

:D

To be honest, I dont really make a big thing of it, I may have 10 people + from WHT talking to me over AIM/MSN/ICQ I just say "Please feel free to post you comments" Not many do, if I start saying please post to this thread I feel I could be putting pressure on them.

right- in fact, I haven't talked to dot5 in serveral days, with the exception of a thread or two on the forums, both which have nothing to do with here.

do I post here cause I'm asked?

hell no. I do whatever the hell I want, when I feel like it. If I feel like trashing someone, or praising someone, it's on me. my decision. Posting good about dot5 doesn't benefit me in any way... hell, it would put more people on my server (I'm on shared hosting).....

Also, the thing about advertising on the first page was a joke :D. It's a good thing to start seeing compliments, instead of host bashing lately. I know i wouldn't want to be bashed, because one of my customers came here, and posted his mind:).

I just added another account to dot5hosting for my daughter and received my welcome mail within a very short time and it was up in a few hours.
One of my other sites(that I moved to dot5) is a download site for Incredimail and I have had people from my email list telling me they are finding the downloads faster, and they have not had any problems accessing my site..................(no more error pages or taking forever to load) They are pleased and so am I.............

I just wanted to add to my original post and let anyone know that is looking for a host with REAL support(email and msn messenger) and Prices that are very affordable.........Give dot5hosting a try...............

and a big Thank you to Chris for all your support and help

I don't think you can accurately judge a host on a few weeks of hosting. I think it takes about six months to a year, unless things are a disaster from the get go. I would tend to be very skeptical of further posts.

puggy106
07-22-2002, 05:29 PM
Yes you are right. Although, I feel my client is just stating her feelings at this point, but then again ... I am not going to complain. So maybe I am not in a position to judge this.

Take care,

Hello Guys,

What are your problems? Why is every single host stabbing a knife behind every other hosts? Specially OKI Host.. I have seen you in most of the threads where people ask for other hosting company recommendation and most of the time I have found you posting negative comments about them? How can you do so?

- Do you have any proof?
- Any experience?

WTF are you trying to do? Are you intending to get customers by posting your signature and meanless post in every damn thread? Why don't you guys take things positively?

Suppose if someone asks about your webhosting company and other hosting company responds some thing negative how would you feel?

I know puggy. He is a nice guy with an excellent company... You are getting jealous when one of his satisfied customer wants to post positive comments about him.. You are getting jealous because:

- You don't have the money to advertise on WHT
- You don't have customers enough to refer other people to you
- Even if you have they are not satisfied
- Nobody wants to post about you on WHT

Why don't you take some time and start thinking positively. I read yet another thread where a guy asked about www.cheapwebhost.us and you told the guy that you won't host with them? Simply because their prices are too low? Oooh God! Why the fuc* you don't mind your own business? How can you post those negative comments about a host:

- with whom you have never hosted a single account
- you have never heard about them..

You are just a moron.. This all is just getting out of limits.. This forums needs more moderation. If you have some negative comments about a hosting company along a proof then only post anything about them.. Else don't waste your ****ing time along with others.. I know hosting companies like you won't survive longer.. Because you are always after other people's business.

Did you ever thought what strategy they are following to satisfy their customers? How much money? How much time? Energy.. Why would you do so? You are just a lamer...

Ever thought how your single post can ruin a company's fortune? how it drain out their hard work? years/months of work? why would you realize this all.. all you need is ****ing business and money...

I can write more and more abou this. But I know this all is of no use... You would remain the same.. cheap lamer..

Hey Omar what seems to be thr problem? That time of the month or something?

1.) If you knew what you were talking about you would have noticed that of all the threads that have asked about Dot5 I have posted nothing but positive reviews as I have spoken with a few people who are hosted with Chris and have been very happy, From everything I have heard and seen there have been no problems over there, If you could please find something to back up your statement and point it out to me that would be great! thanks. I have also spoken with Chris via AIM and I must say he is quite a nice person.

2.) If you do a search on all the under 2.00 hosts that have come around and gone as fast as they have came you would see after a while they either get tired and bored of it or have too many customers to handle and just cant do it anymore so just bail and close shop.. I charge med-high rates for hosting and I know how hard it is to make is especally when the time come to hire additional staff. I have also been a victim to serveral ebay 20-30.00 a year hosting plans and several 3 dollar a month hosting plans and not one of them is still in business.

3.) I have my right to free speech I can say what I want and when I want if you do not like it I believe there is an option to ignore users via the control panel and I suggest you take full advantage as it seems as though I am the most important thing you have to worry about. Now I think it is time for you to go bother someone else.. And again if you could please refer me to some of these "bashings" I would be more than happy to entertain you with my explainations as I have not much more work left to do today and I can see you have nothing to do..

Also if you would like to chat about this in private I would be more than happy to speak with you, You can get my email off of my nifty signature below :D or I am available via AIM at OKISupport or via Yahoo! AIM: OKIHost ...

I agree with all the positive comments about dot5. I have been with them for 2 weeks and their service is impecable. Their responce time is amazing...I had one small issue with my site and they spoke to me within 20 minutes!

I was planning to try out a few hosts, but I can't really ask for better than I have with dot5.

Less than 12hr after you signed up you were online? Slow, very slow. On our server your online in about 1 minute. Instant activation my friend is the way to go. Not waiting hours on end while your webop pulls his finger out. Sigh! Good going though, hope your happy!

There are many hosts like ourselves that do not use instant account activation due to fraud reasons. All of our orders are manually fraud screened. That may be why this persons account took 12 hours to be setup.

INstant setup equals two things = spammers haven and fraud orders. The only way I feel instant activation is safe is if you can manually verufy every transaction as it comes in like RS does with dedicated servers, Alot of hosting companies with instant activation get "known" around the bad guys and then your screwed.

puggy106

That is the exact reason why we do not offer instant activation. Although we do try to aim to get all accounts active within an hour of signing up.

Does anybody know how rackshack does their verification? It seems to be instant. So is there someone there just verifying the orders coming in?

I have to add, Dot5 is a breath of fresh air for me. My last host was a nightmare, downtime everyday, 5-6 days for account activation, no support or blow off tickets and one DNS server that failed, and this operation has been in busness for over 2 years, I hope the owners well, The host prior to that took my money and forgot to set up the account, yep happens. This host was also in business for over 2 years. Chris and Tony have stepped up to the plate where other "established hosts have failed.

My 2 cents
