I have a relative who just moved to Houston so I will try to make it a work/pleasure visit. cPanelDavidG 05-23-2007, 02:52 PM The training seminar is May 30 through June 1 just so everyone has accurate information - not June 30 (not sure where that date came from). Information is available at: http://trainingseminar.cpanel.net/ You only have until Friday to take advantage of our group rate for the Hotel. It's going to be a great (yet productive) time. We already have many vendors signed up to attend including those that extend the functionality of cPanel/WHM in interesting new ways such as setting up load balancing. It's better to think of this as more of a conference than a Training Seminar in my opinion. Yes, training does happen but it has all the fun stuff and networking activity of a conference. lostmind 05-23-2007, 03:22 PM I'll be there to learn some more about cPanel. Sounds like a busy conference to me from the schedule though. cPanelDavidG 05-23-2007, 03:47 PM I'll be there to learn some more about cPanel. Sounds like a busy conference to me from the schedule though. Included in the time slot for a presentation is about a 15 minute buffer for Q&A. We definitely wanted to keep a pace where things were moving along but not so busy that people felt like they were running around all day and didn't have time to check email on your blackberry or whatnot. This conference is open to anyone who wants to attend and pays the $50 fee for attending (keep in mind the dinner we're serving alone is worth that much - it's Houston so expect very good food). Those who may find it most useful are people who are responsible for the maintenance of cPanel/WHM servers. In addition, if you are a cPanel Partner or Distributor, we do have a presentation for the Manage2 interface this year so everyone can become familiar with the capabilities of this licensing system as we've noticed many of the cool and nifty features of it go unused by many Partners/Distributors. insiderhosting 05-23-2007, 05:17 PM I'll be there to learn some more about cPanel. Sounds like a busy conference to me from the schedule though. There is always extra time where they field user questions/concerns. If it's not right after the session, then you can probably pull one of them aside to ask. They are really good about that. -Steven lostmind 05-23-2007, 05:38 PM Yah, that's all good :) I'll be bringing our head sys admin and myself to try and attend every discussion topic. I really appreciate the price tag for the opportunity to learn how to (hopefully) utilise cpanel more effectively. We'll land at houston intercontinental @ 5:30. Hopefully traffic isn't too horrid. :) igy 05-23-2007, 11:01 PM So sad I am going to miss it this year, really was worth going to last year and really wanted to go this year. Food was amazing, cpanel staff were great all in all if you can get the time and money to get out there it's worth it. This year would have been even better with all the new stuff going on but with 45 days to my wedding (fiancee loves to remind me) just couldn't fit it in there. Let me know how it goes :) Mxhub 05-24-2007, 03:45 AM Meet up with the cpanel dudes and learn more about the new features of v11. mdrussell 05-24-2007, 06:13 AM The training seminar is May 30 through June 1 just so everyone has accurate information - not June 30 (not sure where that date came from). Oops, sorry. Just a typo - I have booked hotel and flights for the correct date! cPanelDavidG 05-24-2007, 11:08 AM There is always extra time where they field user questions/concerns. If it's not right after the session, then you can probably pull one of them aside to ask. They are really good about that. -Steven In addition, at the end of each day we'll be having a mass Q&A session where anything goes as far as asking questions. We'll have a panel of staff members including developers, techs, billing, sales etc. including a special panelist I cannot mention publicly yet (show up and be delightfully surprised) ;). ffeingol 05-24-2007, 12:27 PM Well I'm going to be there :stickout: Is there going to be any sort of vendor/exhibit hall? If so, who is going to be there? Frank cPanelDavidG 05-24-2007, 12:39 PM Well I'm going to be there :stickout: Is there going to be any sort of vendor/exhibit hall? If so, who is going to be there? Frank Yes, we do have a Vendor/Exhibit hall. Unlike last year, this will be in a more prominent location right outside the seminar rooms. Among the exhibitors for this year's event are (in alphabetical order): Bobcares Edit.com Modern Gigabyte Netenberg (the folks behind Fantastico) Platinum Server Management R1 Software ScanAlert The Planet sonixi 05-24-2007, 12:42 PM I just checked my schedule... doesn't look like I will be able to attend. Dang it! Will there be another seminar later in the year? mdrussell 05-24-2007, 12:47 PM Yes, we do have a Vendor/Exhibit hall. The legendary taxi journey must live on! cPanelDavidG 05-24-2007, 02:10 PM I just checked my schedule... doesn't look like I will be able to attend. Dang it! Will there be another seminar later in the year? Unfortunately, no. When we do another one of these, it will likely be around the same time next year. stjoenetworks 05-24-2007, 02:38 PM I have booked my tickets and will be there. Woooohoooo! ericgregory 05-24-2007, 03:58 PM Yeah Steve, you better show up :-) Should be another good time this year as was last time. If anyone has any questions or needs info about the event just let me know as I'm the one organizing the whole shebang. BigTom3007 05-24-2007, 04:29 PM Sounds good. I need to tlak R1 Software into a healthy discount ;) They charge 0.50 USD for GB backuped up. Well worth it. ;) mdrussell 05-24-2007, 04:33 PM How many people do you expect to attend Eric? ericgregory 05-24-2007, 04:39 PM Looking at about 80 or more... Everyone likes to wait until the last minute, heh... insiderhosting 05-25-2007, 05:06 AM You going again Steve? The legendary taxi journey must live on! What happens in Texas, stays in Texas! -Steven mdrussell 05-25-2007, 06:53 PM Will we be allowed to film the sessions? This'd be useful for us, with staff training. ericgregory 05-27-2007, 07:28 AM We will be recording all the sessions. We'll provide details regarding availability of the footage at the seminar. See you there :-) mdrussell 05-28-2007, 11:24 AM Love the idea of getting everyone wasted on Wednesday night, so they're nice and hungover for the Thursday start! Reminds me of college days ;) ffeingol 05-28-2007, 12:18 PM Yea, I'm a little disappointed that I won't be able to make the wed night stuff. OTOH there will be nothing quite like getting up at 3:00 am to catch a flight to Houston. lostmind 05-29-2007, 02:54 PM So where can I get a list of good restaurants/bars near the hotel? Any data centers close by that I could zip out and take a tour of? MarioR 05-30-2007, 12:17 PM So where can I get a list of good restaurants/bars near the hotel? Any data centers close by that I could zip out and take a tour of? The spot where the seminar is going to be hosted is like right in the center of it all. http://houston.citysearch.com/profile/11355238/houston_tx/galleria_shopping_center.html As for the night venues there are many too choose from all within minutes from where the seminar will be hosted. mdrussell 05-30-2007, 01:53 PM I am in town. Anyone else here yet? VertexBilly 05-30-2007, 06:33 PM I am here as well, but I guess you know that Matt as I already saw you down by the pool. -Billy mdrussell 06-01-2007, 07:37 PM Just to reiterate my thanks for Cpanel, the seminar was extremely useful and I'll definitely be coming back next year. Cpanel looked after us well. I'll post some pics up shortly ;) lostmind 06-01-2007, 10:51 PM Same here, the cPanel seminar was surprisingly useful. While there is definite room for improvement in course content/layout/scheduling, overall it was well worth the time and money to attend. cPanel definitely took care of us. |
