We are considering several options for additional services beyond what we already offer. (Currently only Virtual Hosting on Cobalt servers) We would like to offer all of the basics, Virtual Hosting, IP Shared Hosting, and Dedicated Servers.

What we are trying to decide is how Platform agnostic we need to be. By this we mean, is there demand for platforms other than Cobalt and Linux? What about offering hosting on Sun Sparc/Ultra systems? NT?

The bottom line is, what sells? What do customers demand? Any thoughts of advice is appreciated.

Thanks - Brian

It all depends, we get far more demand for linux box' sthan win2k box's but im seeing that changing as more people realize how stable win2k is...

Well, if it helps, the company I do most of my freelance for, is converting their machines to Win2k and buying more for the future. I'd have to agree that more people are realizing the stability of Win2k.

I don't think that was clear...when I said converting, I meant getting rid of unix and replacing it with Win2k.

WHAT?!?! There are more stable os's other than Windows 3.11? You mean my box shouldn't crash every 20 minutes?
