There is a MOD for phpBB that allows you to have bots that randomly responds to a selected percentage of posts (I chose 30%, except in my BOT forum, in which he responds to 100% of posts). You can give your BOT personality - favourite movie, colour, books, a name, etc.

Mine is "Dufresne". Shares all the traits of Andy Dufresne of the Shawshank Redemption ;)

It's based on the Alice engine written in AIML.
