I registered most of my domains in namecheap and they provide dns services for free. My hosting provider also provide dns services for free but I never use them.

So do you use dns services provide by domain register?

NameCheap are an eNom reseller. They use eNom's DNS servers. eNoms DNS servrs are good. I'd say they'd probably be better than any webhost's servers.

Many domain registers offer pretty good DNS service. There are several others available which provide the same service for a nominal fee or even free.

If you are a web/dedicated provider it is always good to have an extra set of servers behind your primary nameserver group in the event of an upstream or host change.

It will allow you to instantly move many customers over at the click of a button without waiting for long propogation times.

I got server in softlayer, they do offer dns services for free.

I registered domain in answerable, if you need dns manage, you need to pay $0.99/year. So I just thinking whether I should pay the price or just use softlayer dns services.

I've used enom's DNS a long time but since they moved their DNS5 away from Europe i switched to nettica.com , they are very fast and reliable.

I use dnsmadeasy as well, I think for the price they are well worth it and give you many features that others don't, such as vanity dns servers.
