View Full Version : Forum Grand Opening!
SiperNet 02-18-2001, 08:28 PM Just wanted to announce the opening of our new discussion board! http://www.webmafiaforums.com.
We are still looking for one more person to fill a moderator position, some experience would be preferable. Contact me at webmaster@webmafiaforums.com if you are interested.
mkaufman 02-18-2001, 10:03 PM You've got to be kidding.. :D
Nope..lol
Dylan 02-18-2001, 10:15 PM Oh no! haahaahaa
SiperNet 02-18-2001, 10:35 PM Thanks for all the kind words. I actually ecpected a little more civility from people here.
If you don`t like it fine, no one asked you to! If it makes you feel better to poke fun at me, great. It doesn`t bother me much at all, not to mention it gives me a good laugh also.
Have a great day!
cbaker17 02-18-2001, 10:59 PM Woah siper, dont get all bent out of shape, I actually love the name, I think they were just joking :) everybody visit his forum and make it big like wht, but first siper you cant get bent out of shape. were just a bunch of big kids after all!!!
Dylan 02-18-2001, 11:02 PM No, I think you missed the point.
cbaker17 02-18-2001, 11:04 PM Who me ???
Dylan 02-18-2001, 11:07 PM Oh sorry! My post got in a bit late and then I saw your post and I was going to modify it... but I was too late again... heehee...
I meant the mafia dude.
SiperNet 02-18-2001, 11:21 PM I understand, I think it was inappropriate for me to post here. Who in there right mind would post about a forum on a forum? Not enough sleep I suppose. Didn`t mean to get defensive.
The mods can delete this thread if they want. Thank you.
cbaker17 02-18-2001, 11:23 PM The forums arent competing against each other, I think it was a good idea to post here, I love to read posts and sometimes wht just cant fill my urges :)
mkaufman 02-18-2001, 11:51 PM Hmm..yes..I was only kidding! :D
Dylan 02-18-2001, 11:59 PM This is the advertising section!

Dylan 02-19-2001, 12:57 AM $1 domain sale? How on earth did I miss that?

I think what they really are joking is about your looking for and admin there... Personally, I hope your site will grow soon! By the way, you don't seem to have a forum rules... (still looking for it) might not be a good idea if you don't...
cheers,

SiperNet 02-19-2001, 03:15 AM I know it sounded silly to ask for a moderator when there is barely anyone registered at the forum but there is a reason for my asking.
I am in the military and will be gone for the most part of the next 2 months. I do have a partner assisting me with my hosting site but he does not have the time to help with the forum. That is why I was asking for a little help. I have 2 people helping me right now but I was just asking for a little help from someone who has either done something like this before, or has been around forums for a while. There you have it.
And yes I am working on the forum rules. I know, should have had those setup before hand, they will be up tomorrow. Until then, I don`t think we`ll have any problems. After all we are all adults and know what should and shouldn`t be posted right, I for one would like to think so!
There you have it folks. You all have a good evening, I`m going to bed!

actually... what I mean is that being an admin is not an easy task, no matter how many members you have. That's why people were joking about the admin thing... :D As for me, I will just register as a member... :)
cheers,

Ohhh it's easy as long as you can:
Accept being hated by 1/3 of the board for what you do.
Accept being hated by 1/3 of the board for what you don't do.
(Luckily there's always a 1/3 that really doesn't give a crap either way, hee hee).

mkaufman 02-19-2001, 09:54 AM Dylan - Yes, there was a $1 domain sale, I believe at Staples/Register.com. After a year (I believe) the renewal fee was $35 however, but it's great if you're just planning to sell the names. Lets just hope this comes out again soon, eh? :)
And, no I wasn't laughing at him wanting an admin, it was just the name :)

I heard about the sale right here on WHT and caught the tail end of it. It was never obvious how to actually take advantage of the sale, however. From all appearances the order form was a standard register.com page, but the "insider" information was that you had to change the $35 to $1 on the form then submit it. Thanks to an alert WHT'er, who provided the how-to.
