For Cpanel/WHM to sucessfuly run what needs to be installed or configured on your machine? Im talking about software such as php,dns,etc... And one more thing. are php,perl,asp and mysql the most common developer tools clients look for on a host?

Apache will install everything it needs except the OS...

As far as I know, when running the install for CPanel, all those other software packages including PHP, MySQL, Perl etc are installed by CPanel. ASP isn't installed as standard though if it's on a Linux server. You just need a base install of Red Har Linux or other operating system, and CPanel installer will take care of everything else.
