I run a large online magazine. We are doing about a gig a day in traffic on average,sometimes more, sometimes less, and the way things are going we may do more than that. We have just filled our 200 meg server. I'm not sure how much of our traffic is images, but we do have images on our reviews, and for all content we have supporting images. When we feature first looks or previews we have full-screen images of the product in question, ranging from about 20k-100k an image on those counts.

I currently use nomonthlyfees.com but they want 10 bucks a gig over 5gig/month and that's just unreasonable. They have no way to jump to a higher plan, as they only offer one plan.

Therefore, I'm looking for a new host for me. I'd like a host that has a search engine and stats already installed. UNIX is fine,don't need NT. Do need things like PERL and perhaps PHP. I'd like a minimum of 500 megs of server space and at least 50 gigs/month of traffic. I've seen the unlimited bandwith but they look like a scam to me.

Right now I have an offer of:
29.99 a month and I would get:
500 megs, 50 gigs/month, cgi access, perl, php, 25 POP e-mail addresses and that's it. No programs come installed. no control panel.

Is this a good deal? Can anyone tell me of anything better?

Unlimited is a scam (good intuition on your part!), and that offers sounds extremely reasonable for what you are getting. I'd take it personally.

Read the fine print...
$30 for 50 GB is just too cheap to be real.
Unless of cause they charge you a huge amount for extra usage.

The offer is from a large Manhattan-based entertainment company that I am affiliated with. They do select hosting for companies that they know. They're 100% reputable and are staffed by excellant people and tech support, which is always a plus in my eyes. They are cutting me a deal on the plan, and I'm 99% sure I'm taking it, I just wanted to make sure it was a good deal.
