Hi! I need help finding a free adless host that has unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth, NO ADS (what so ever), PHP & mySQL access and FTP access. Is this possible? Or am I dreaming? LOL!!!! And if anyone can help me learn PHP & mySQL....pllzzz either IM me using ICQ, YM!, MSN, or AIM. ICQ is the one I use most! =) I've asked tons of people for help but they just ignore me =| If anyone can help I would deeply appreciate it.

No offense but your dreaming. Could be why you get no response. First there is no such thing as unlimited, unless you know of a break through in hard disk that I have missed somewhere that allows them to grow in size.
Second why would a host give you free space and bandwidth as much as you wanted if they could not get something from it? It cost them money to have a server and bandwidth is not free.

Yes. You are dreaming about the unlimited stuff; with our without ads.

Try http://host.sk

They have no ads and claim all of the unlimited crapola as well. The site's in slovakian, but that's a small price to pay...

Then why aren't you using them ?

cwcandromeda

Because my forum, which I'm trying to find a host for, can't be run off of T35, they dont' have mySQL access. They only have PHP access. I must have PHP & mySQL access in order for my forum and my newly created chat to work.

Thanx,

People offer it, but it's impossible to really deliver. That's why people here hate it so much. It's dishonest.

If you're running a forum and need lots of space and bandwidth and no ads, I suggest rackshack.net which has dedicated servers starting at $99/month. They are considered the McDonald's of servers these days.

Well...true about the free hosting. But unfortunately given my current site payment that are stacking up....i am flat broke after I pay them off so I can't afford to go out and pay for something else. You can see why I need free hosting can't you? Anyhooz....as mentioned farrrr above. I'm gonna run it off my server instead of course I need someone to help me figure out what is up with this configuration. O...and if anyone can teach PHP & mySQL to me.....i'd be more than greatful ;) Please ICQ me if you can help. My ICQ UIN # is 148614306! Okies...I shut up now! I've said enough for a bit! LOL! This is moving too fast for me. It's almost like spamming so I'm gonna slow down a bit!

If you find a host that offers you that... Tell me... I think I'll start reselling them :D...

To learn PHP and MySQL, there are plenty of documents on the web. I suggest http://www.yahoo.com for pointers. This is how probably half the people here learned this stuff, why should you be any different? (The other half using books or learning from a class or friend).

You don't need web hosting. You need clothes and food, but you don't need to run your forum. Perhaps try again later when you can afford it. People here are running businesses and not charities. If you actually found a host that was willing to give you charity, they cannot and will not give you unlimited space/transfer.

If you can't pay don't play.

cwcandromeda

okies...will do! Although I'm gonna host it on my home server instead of a site host. I only went searching for a host 'coz I don't know why the PHP and mySQL access isn't working on my server. That's why! But if I find one...i'll let you know!

[ Edit ] Ok, fair enough, kid. Try the web for PHP and MySQL tutorials, and try half.com for some cool and cheap books (that's my main source for learning. Good luck on your project, and hope you get your server running. [ /Edit ]

I've tried Yahoo! Either the group doesn't have any members or it isn't written in English and I can't read it. I tried phpbuddy.com but the font is just too dang small!

Half.com. I have a whole bookshelf of stuff I buy from them -- Linux Red Hat, II2, Photoshop, Illustrator, Windows 2000 Security for Dummies. They have got to have a PHP for Dummies and a MySQL for Dummies; that should be around $7 each for the used books including shipping, I hope.

Damn post overlaps! :D Never have an argument on a forum.

Guess what, they have PHP and MySQL in one handy-dandy book:

http://half.ebay.com/cat/buy/prod.cgi?cpid=1087716776&domain_id=1856&meta_id=1

About $20 including shipping, a little higher than I estimated but at least you get both topics in one. I highly recommend the series on any topic that ignites your fancy.

For books, see what is available at the library too. That's free unless you bring them back late. :)

You don't need unlimited space/transfer for a forum. Chances are, even the smallest package at any pay-host will be enough for a forum that is just starting. Don't be disillusioned. a few mb space and 1-2 gb transfer is all you'll need.

As long as I can get my forum & chat up and learn PHP & mySQL i'm happy! Then I can get back to work. My Andromeda site has been on hold for the forum & chat project.
