Just wondering if anybody here has any experience with setting up affiliate schemes? Which ones are worth looking at? Are they easy to implement?

It's taken us time (and a lot of money, with current payout levels) to build it up, but we started late. We are gnow getting decent numbers of sales from it though.

Check out Idev. Its a good software however your payouts have to be really competitive to attract the attention of the top affiliates out there.
