You guys see the "Search Forum" textbox at the very top of WHT?

When I search for something it displays the result in POSTS format. Before the template change the results were displayed in a THREAD format.

I am not saying I'm lazy to do the extra click but its getting kinda annoying when you search often like me before actually posting a thread about it.

it would be nice if the thread results were displayed in THREAD format.

I dont use that.....

I use ADVANCED SEARCH (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php) and that lists as posts OR threads :) (And always has)

I know but I search WHT more than I surf so it would help at least if they have an option to choose to display results as threads :(.

And others prefer the results as posts.

If we can only have that box one way, I think results as posts is the better choice.

Either way, we need to make it consistent and have the default results the same, no matter where you're searching from. Then, if you want something else, you just go Advanced (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php).

I know I do more often than not :) I am sure many hosts who search for their domain would like to be taken straight to the post also, rather than having to also do "search this thread".

If those who search for windows, ASP, video, H-Sphere, plesk etc threads to zoom into, they can go advanced ;)

Well, the OLD system did have two options to display the results, thread and posts, right at the top. Why not just implement a similar option? Are you worried about clutter?
