I'm fairly new at this website thing. I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for promoting our website that are free.

I found that writing articles and placing them on high ranking legitimate article directories helps to some extent. For free and over a long period it has helped increase my page ranking. Since my page rank has increased I get a lot more inquiries which lead to more signups. It won't do much for you over a short period.

When writing articles or press releases you have to make sure that you deliver a well organized content. Make sure it is newsworthy. Before starting to write you have to answer this question: Is my website and the services that i offer on it going to help and improve the life of my clients? The answer to this one will definitely help you write a good article.

To add my suggestions: improve your linking - i.e. search for fellow free websites in your niche and contact them, offering link exchange :agree:
