I want domain1.com to resolve to domain2.com

I added a cname record in the cp of tera-byte (domain1.com is a alias for domain2.com), and waited a few days.
It didn't work.

I mailed and i got a return message that it didn't worked because the way i set it up, it will work as http://domain1.com.domain2.com
And indeed it did.

I joined chat and asked there how i should set it up. They set it up for me exactly the way i did, and now it still only works as http://domain1.com.domain2.com.

Maybe someone here can give me a hint ?

in order for domain1.com to go to domain2.com set up another soa record for domain1 and give it domain2's ip address, a cname isnt needed for that purpose.

the way i do the pointing is to set up a normal DNS entry for each domain name as if they are not related. then on the raq i put 'aliasdomain.com' and 'www.aliasdomain.com' in the 'web server aliases' field along with 'maindomain.com'. this works fine for me. i think that this only works if both domain's are on the same IP address.
