what are the pros and cons about reselling? Right now I am the only programmer of a website, and I am toying with the idea to resell. We use Ventures Online. They have 50 % discount for reseller, why do they offer so much? Also I am considering to move my domain to them, or should I use ********? What do you think?

well seeing as whoever the second one is got themselves banned, it doesn't look good for them.

Companies offer heavy discounts for reseller plans as the reseller themselves then takes over the support of that account, whether it's an account of your own, or a customer. As a large amount of a cost of hosting is the support, this reduction in cost gets passed onto the reseller, who is then able to mark that plan up again to make a profit of their own.

Pros would be reduced costs, ability to gain an income off something you're interested in

Cons would be that if you're selling hosting to other people in an industry that never sleeps, you may find youself forgetting what your pillow feels like if you wish to provide a correct level of support.

The only other con I can think of as a reseller is not having root access to sort an issue out wihout relying on your upstream.

strange i thought s-t-a-r-g-a-t-e has a good reputation? They also banned d-i-a-t-o-n-e.net which i cannot recommend, though. Just moved my account from them to another host.

Anyone can recommend a domain registrar with free pop email? I heard domainguru is good.

if I remember correctly it's not the host, but rather the domain registrar that got banned. The host just got caught up in the mess name wise.
