I am looking for somebody who offers email/web hosting. Have done a bit of research, and it looks likely that I'll plump for one of Host Europe's £199/year offerings (does anyone know whether there's a significant difference between Magic Moments and Web Fusion?)

I'd be very interested to hear from anyone who has experience of them, particularly positive/negative tales of customer support (they say that they offer 24/7 telephone support, but it seems from their site that they are rather reluctant to get people to call them).

More details of my exact requirements below - I would prefer a hosting company with a UK presence, though this is not essential. If you know of anyone else who can offer this lot for a reasonable price, let me know. I can't stress enough that reliability (particularly of email) and easily contacted customer service are the deciding factors. A service with some kind of SLA would make me feel a lot more secure.

Specific requirements are, in order of importance:
- Email hosting, IMAP option preferred, with at least 10 mail addresses
- 24/7 telephone support
- Secure backups of data in the event of service failure
- Webmail access
- Web hosting with ASP/SQL (MS or MySQL) support
- Web-based control panel for configuring service, e.g. adding
password-protected directories
- Anything else (WAPMail? Groupware?) is a bonus ;-)

You're welcome to spam^B^B^B^Bmail me with your offering, but please please PLEASE read the above requirements carefully before doing so, I'm looking for a properly run, guaranteed service, not a way of financing somebody's DSL connection.

Thanks,
Dan Sumption

Dan,

Post a request in the Web Hosting Requests area and you will get some good offers -- hosts are not allowed to make offers to posts in this section, rules of the forum.

Also, its worth mentioning how much webspace and bandwidth you are looking for so hosting companies can offer you relevant prices.

Regarding Host Europe, maybe try doing a search to see what comes up. As far as I am aware, Magic Moments and Web Fusion are both owned by Host Europe.

Thanks Chris, I'll try that, although to be honest I'm far more interested in hearing from hosting users than people trying to sell to me - it's all to easy for salespeople to inflate their offering and then not fulfil on it, but user testimonies tell a more interesting story.

If he posts a request for offers he is not going to get recommendations which is what he is after.
