VPS = virtual private server.

It means the same thing for windows as it means for linux. You basically control pretty much most aspects of the system.

Essentially it means you have your own server but share the physical hardware on a box. With Virtual Server 2005 you don't share RAM however and CPU can also be reserved.

Yes you use Remote Desktop to login to the server and have root access etc. You can reboot, install software and format hard drives etc just as you can on a normal physical server - you can't tell the difference.

Do you know any good vps provider that offers windows plans?

Thanks

Edit: just seen your vps plans in your site

Thanks for taking a look :)

You can check out appliedi.net (http://www.appliedi.net/) or thehostingroom.com (https://www.thehostingroom.com)

Also check out the VPS advertising section on WHT as there are some Windows VPS offers there too.

A virtual private server (also referred to as virtual dedicated server or virtual server, and abbreviated VPS or VDS) is a method of partitioning one physical server computer into multiple servers that each has the appearance and capabilities of running on its own dedicated machine. Each virtual server can run its own full-fledged operating system, and each server can be independently rebooted.
