Does anyone here use http://www.serveroutsource.net/? I know they post here often, but I couldn't get the stupid search engine to return any results (I guess the name is too long :)). Their prices appear good, but how is the speed, reliability, etc?
(I'm also looking at transoptics, but they seem kinda flaky. The package at SOS (uhoh--bad acronym) looks better, but I'm not sure.)
Thanks,
Owen
apollo 07-12-2002, 05:40 AM actually, I never used their services, but I sent a few inquiries to their sales department. The response times were fast and very professional (even the answers on some technical questions).
JDMundo 07-12-2002, 10:55 AM Its not more than a couple of weeks ago, someone else tried to solicit some feedback on these guys, but not a whole lot surfaced (neither good or bad).
I can't find the damn thread though, no matter what I search for, so I guess you can just go back through dedicated forum and look at each subject, it had 'serveroutsource' in it as far as I remember.
When I first read one of the specials they had in the offers forum I mailed them a few times back and forth, testing their responsiveness, and I had a different experience than Apollo above. It took at least 24 hours from the time I sent the email until I got a reply.
I did a bit of testing on their Cogent lines and it definitely seemed above average for Cogent, no long ping times and packets were not sent around the planet three-four times, so thats a big plus.
.. But thats pretty much all I can tell you. Sorry I can't be of more help.
skylab 07-12-2002, 12:42 PM they have a great bargain special going on at the moment. i wish i could jump on that. they have a nice bargain deal every month or so. their upgrade fees, well, another story, but i mean, they have to make money somewhere, you know?
BUT, i too have no experience with thier service. i have fielded them sales questions which they've been very prompt with replying too.
i don't know what to get from their site, but, it seems they will soon start having level3 (or yipes) in their network mix? cogent/epik seems impressive enough for the price + product you receive.
so no one here has actually used them?

I have never used their services either and I too, sent an Email to their sales dept. First one was answered and when I sent another Reply, (for further clairification on their "Legalize" and association with awebhosting.net), I have not heard back -- that was on July 09.
I have often found, sending a few Emails to be the best indicator of what kind of company/person I will be dealing with. Has saved me from getting a few mud baths, I'll tell you what. :)
