I've got a few .org domains that are expiring soon and would like to transfer/renew them as cheaply as possible. (of course)

Any idea of the cheapest place for .org ?
Thanks

Hello,

As far as I can say you that you can have domain registered in cheap price as poromotion but you cannot renew in cheap price. So, in this case if your registrar costs you more than the normal rate of renewal which is usually $8.95, then I guess you can easily transfer your domain to any or to almost all other domain registrar with this price. Once it is transfered you'll get your domain name renewed.

Please let us know who is your domain registrar for the .org(s) domain names, so that we can guide you more briefly.

Answerable.com does transfers of .org for $6.99

I haven't used them though. Just came across it.

Wouldn't recommend to go with the cheapest place, especially 1and1. Though they are not as bad as people say, if you dont know what their procedures are you may end up losing your domain, seriously.

Expect to pay around $9 for a decent registrar, if going with a reseller, make sure its reputable, like namecheap.

well, I never had problems with 1and1.com. U right: if you know the procedures....but let's not forget that everything with them is explained and all steps are understandable. if he needs help I offer help for free.

True, me neither. But most of the complaints result from people not reading those steps and then whining about getting ripped and bad service and such.

I own 10+ domains from 1and1 and I've never had problems transferring in and out of 1and1, yet.

they do have some support issues, but that can be forgiven of them, considering the low prices they have.

...thus bad, almost non-existant, support.

well, come on. as long as you play by the rules they have in their FAQs and Support Pages and read the f...g READ Me files :) ...you're ok. I never had issue with them.
