HI

I am currently trying to point my domain name, which is registered with beyondinternet.net (medusa Portal) to my 1and1 account.

I have updated the DNS settings within the Medusa panel with the 1and1 name servers. However, the domain discontinues to work.

I have contacted support, who have stated that I can only point the "www" to the 1and1 nameservers. This means that I have managed to publish the website.

I now need to add email accounts. This is not working as Medusa have stated that they will not repoint mailserver settings to external hosts.

I want to set the email accounts for the domain up, with my 1and1 account.

Can anybody suggest a solution? I have attached a screenshot of the Medusa DNS settings screen.

Thanks

1&1's name servers are responding for your domain. However, Nominet refers to the following servers for your domain (delorgroup.co.uk):;; AUTHORITY SECTION:
delorgroup.co.uk. 172800 IN NS c.ns.as8401.net.
delorgroup.co.uk. 172800 IN NS d.ns.as8401.net.
delorgroup.co.uk. 172800 IN NS a.ns.186k.co.uk.
delorgroup.co.uk. 172800 IN NS b.ns.186k.co.uk.These do not respond.

What would you recommend I do?

Check with your domain registrar why your domain does not refer to 1&1's name servers.

I`ve been in dispute with the domain registrar, and they have told me that they dont allow total DNS changes. They reckon it effects their system. A load of rubbish if you ask me. They have also made it near impossible to transfer the domain away from them.

It looks like they are trying to bully their customers into buying webspace from them.

Is there anything else I could do to point the email servers at my 1and1 server.

Thanks for the help so far. Cant believe how fast the replies have been comming in.

Cheers

Transfer your domain somewhere else ;-). If I recall correctly, you can only use 1&1's MX servers when using their name servers as well. You'd have to check with them, though, to be sure, maybe this has changed meanwhile. I assume that you intend to use their shared hosting email system, not a dedicated server (although you're referring to "your" 1&1 server).

But ... reading through your original post again, it appears that your registrar will not allow you to set up MX records ("mail server" records) either - so you'd be out of luck anyways (except for transferring the domain somewhere else).
