On alt.www.webmaster two low-cost hosts seem to be recommended most (their reps/owners participate there too, not that there's anything wrog with that): aussiehosts.com and affordablehost.com

Does anyone have any experience with them for a *small* family site? This site will also be used for hosting images for the occasional ebay auction. We only need a handful of email addresses and minimal storage/throughput -- just enough for family members to look at pictures and for people to view those images @ebay.

One thing about the wner of affordable host participating in the webmaster forum is that you can reasonably expect to get her when you need to.

I offer affordablehost to my clients but haven't signed anybody up for them. I wish I knew why.

You might tey using the search function here in the forum
(upper right hand corner)
Type company name in and past postings, feedback will result.
I think both those hosts participate here too.

melloyello,

I started with AussieHosts just over a year ago as a complete newbie with zero knowledge.

Gary was extremely helpful in getting my personal site up and running and helped me out with all the technical aspects involved.

AussieHosts also run a friendly and helpful forum, and I heartily recommend them.
