I am new to WHT, decided to make this account since I am going to be running a website in a few hours. It has an interesting story to it, that I would like to hear some feedback/advice about. I am a student at Virginia Tech, and was deeply hurt by the events that transpired on Monday. I was near Norris Hall when it all happened, and can only think since then how helpless I was. Many people have felt helpless as well in the Hokie Nation. My original resolve was to establish a website that people can donate to and a place to sell a T-Shirt design I had, but then I thought I would create something much greater, much more meaningful. I attended the convocation and remember after we all stood up chanting, "Lets go hokies!" how powerful our community is, and how powerful the student community is worldwide. I am creating an online community where students across the world can come together and unify, and by their participation in this community, create something very powerful. I am using most of the money from traffic generated on this site to establish a grant to give to Virginia Tech on behalf of every person on the website "The Hokie Nation" that will be a commemorative scholarship(s) to represent the people who died on 4/16/2007. The more people that join and participate, the greater of a force this will become. This is the first of its kind that I know of, that just by coming together as a community, we , students and others just concerned alike, can do something great. The website will be up hopefully by the end of today. collegiatenotes.com --Let me know what you guys think.
