I consider joining to Register Compass.
Any reviews? Or do you know a better service?
(I am aware that this thread is rather old, but I still want to make a reply.)

Sedo and Register Compass do different things.

Register Compass claims they have 368,260 domain names in their database that are set to expire very soon.
You have to analyze 368,260 domain names each day, and find out which are valuable, therefore you have to check their historical page rank, incoming links, estimated traffic, DMOZ and Yahoo directory listing, whois history etc. Then save, sort and search this whole database, and update it each day. Also you have to figure out the historical page rank, because expiring domains have PR0, but if you restore their content, they will regain their missing page rank.
I wonder how can you do this with a desktop software? You cannot send 368,260 queries to Google. Even if you could, you would need a very fast dedicated computer for this task, which runs 24/7.
Snapnames, Pool & Namejet have a list of expiring names available.
Disrelation 02-15-2010, 11:50 PM Check out Snapnames, I've used them in the past.
CD Burnt 02-16-2010, 02:49 AM godaddy has lots of expired domains in their auctions.
(expired but not yet dropped)
Farkenel 02-16-2010, 03:26 AM What's the point of doing this? Is it because the names would already be in search engines/established names. As you can see, I'm new to this.
Crusader99 02-16-2010, 05:07 AM Have you ever bought expiring domains?
If I give you a list of 55237 expiring domain names, that's totally useless.
In contrast, if I give you a list of 55237 expiring domain names, which contains also backlink statistics, page rank, alexa rank, Dmoz listing, whois history, and you can sort it by all variables, that's now a valuable list.

If the above is directed at me, then no. I haven't. That's why I asked : )
Thankyou for confirming my suspicions though! :)
