View Full Version : New company to open data center at offer $0.06/mo dedicated server deals!
Tim Greer 07-10-2002, 07:57 AM Are you tried of high priced dedicated server solutions of upwards of $99.00 a month for a dedicated server with a measly 400 gig's a month bandwidth and no support?
Let's get right to the point! I'm partnering up with some local people and we managed to put together a state of the art data center and blazing fast network!
Are you tired of having your Windows and Unix or Mac servers crash and burn? Why not try our dedicated deals on our brand new, second hand circa 1979 Atari (http://www.atari-history.com/computers/8bits/400.html) (tm) 400 (http://www.geocities.com/~compcloset/atari400.htm) systems?!
Our super dooper, blazing fast Atari Network (http://www.rdrop.com/~jimw/34590_03.JPG) is one of the most advanced in the country, offering custom backups on our 410 Data Cassette Drives (http://www.atari-history.com/410.html) and we even offer Data recovery on your hard drives! (http://www.rdrop.com/~jimw/34588_21.JPG).
Of course, Atari's have another advantage! The 400 model doesn't even offer hard drives, so you can feel safe that your data is secure and redundant with our Backup solutions! (http://www2.asw.cz/~kubecj/data/hardpics/410____f.jpg).
Even the keyboard is so advanced that it's tactile membrane prevents damage from food and small objects that are commonly falling out of the mouths of our on-site (mother's basement) staff members!
We have redundant power sources with our high tech Tube racks! (http://www.rdrop.com/~jimw/34588_16.JPG). No more breakers and UPS, we have enough vacuum tubes to last us to next month!
All servers come with the very fast Atari CPU model 6502 -- that's 1.8 mhz people!
A healthy 8K of RAM and using the CTIA chip technology!
We offer many OS choices; Basic.
Add ons include the Atari DOS 2.0/2.5, MyDOS, Sparta-DOS, Happy DOS II+D, BiboDOS, TurboDOS, TopDOS, BeweDOS and SuperDOS systems. Everything from Atari Assembly and Atari Basic, to PILOT (you can develop screaming online applications, as soon as we can connect the modems!)

The Prohacker 07-10-2002, 02:20 PM Does the flea ridden staff do support of billing?? Or both???
Gotta love a DC that has everything, kitchen, bedrooms, and even living rooms... Your setup is so clever....
You disguised your Data Center as a normal home to deter criminals from stealing your quality hardware :D
BTW: Can I get a cpanel license too???
utadmin 07-10-2002, 02:53 PM  wow ... such a great deal
Joana 07-10-2002, 03:18 PM Where is the sign-up form? been trying to access your site with no luck..:D
Rotifer 07-10-2002, 03:31 PM How much for an upgrade to the Timex Sinclair 1000 (http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=477) ?
Angel78 07-10-2002, 03:34 PM do you have redundant conections like www.obsoletehosting.com ? and tape-backup systems?

Sheesh, the Sinclair 1000 was an upgraded model with twice the RAM (2kb) instead of the older model with 1kb of RAM, heh. I had one of those, as many of you did. You just can't beat loading a program via the cassette player...
*press play*
*wait 15 minutes*
bingo, your program is running! :D Those were some painful home computing days...
iamdave 07-11-2002, 03:57 AM I want to host with you, as soon as possible.
phpjames 07-11-2002, 10:06 AM Dear god tim...this is one of the better/funnier posts Ive read in a while. Thanks for the whitty crackup. :stickout
16k...I cant believe how far computers have progressed in such a short period of time.
* Proud sponsor of the 2002 TimPD "Special Hosting Team"-------- Now this is freaking hilarious! :D Is TimPD competing in the hosting special olympics? Afterall he is handicap and retarded.
Skeptical 07-11-2002, 11:21 AM Hey aren't the admins supposed to slap the poster around a few times and close the post because it's a blatant solicitation of business on a lounge forum?
I think I'm gonna set up my own Nintendo clustering package one of these days.
ljprevo 07-11-2002, 12:05 PM We can Offer you something better than that deal!!
Are you tired of high priced dedicated server solutions of upwards of $.06 a month for a dedicated Atari with a measly 8k of ram?
Then why not spend that extra $.04 cents per month and get a Quality Commodore 64 (http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=98) for a low cost of $.10 per month!
Let's get right to the point! I also partnered up with some local people and we managed to put together a BIGGER state of the art data center and MUCH FASTER blazing network!
Are you tired of having your Atari server crash and burn? Why not try our dedicated deals on our brand new, second hand circa Commodore 64 (tm) systems?!
OUR whoooping, blazing fast Commodore Network is one of the most advanced in the country, offering custom backups on our 1561 "5 1/4" floopy disk drives. Don't waste time with those Atari tape backups! They are not as reliable as a state of the art Commodore 1561 "5 1/4" floppy disk drive.
Of course, Commodore's have another advantage! We do offer hard drives, so you can feel safe that your data is secure and redundant. Each Commodore 64 server comes with a CMD HD-20
20Mb hard-drive (http://www.old-computers.com/museum/detail.asp?t=2&i=263)
Don't settle with a 8K Atari when you can get a 64K RAM Commodore!
And if that is not enough for you, you can easily upgrade to a 128K Commodore 128 (http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=96) for only $.05 cents more per month.

ljprevo 07-11-2002, 12:47 PM Man, I wish we could afford it. A year of hosting would be $1.20, the cheapest place I can find the betamax is for $2.00
Don't think that would be profitable :(

Tim Greer 07-11-2002, 06:19 PM Hi,
Sorry everyone. I'll get to your order as fast as possible. I have at least 3 emails in my inbox and it's difficult to sort through all of them. I'd have sooner, but well, I was arrested again for credit card fraud and things have been a little hectic around here with the FBI coming and taking all the drives for inspection. I promise to get to everything by next month and let you know what's going on, we just need to reorganize the team a little -- and late one night we're going to have to move to another data center unexpectedly (unfortunately we will not be able to give any notice [it can happen any time in the next year]).
Also things have been a little slow as my hand still hurts after I put the ol' woman in line the other night. That was the first arrest and had nothing to do the the more recent arrest for CC fraud. I'm just being honest here guys, as I think that's the best way to do business. On a positive note, we're trying to find out where we can get some of those Gibson super computers that we saw in the movie "Hackers" and we (me, myself and I) will update you soon. Also, my mother says I might be able to move the computers out of the basement and into my brother's old room as soon as he's sent back to juvenile hall. So things are really looking up! Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Tim Greer 07-11-2002, 06:56 PM Sorry, that post didn't come out right. It should have read:

I told you FIVE TIMES ALREADY, you will NOT be getting a refund for your $1 yearly hosting fee, as you agreed to me being able to charge your CC whenever I want. It's clearly posted in the TOS upon signup. Forget it pal, back off or I'll sue you and all your relatives!

As a board member of atari-colocation.com I should comment here.
You haven't sent your preactivation fee in and we no longer want or need your business. If you were within driving distance I might even come over and crack some knee caps for wasting our time.
