Hi. I've had a reseller account with Telnap for almost 2 years ($9.95 / month) but I've been having some problems over the past few weeks and despite emails to the support team, submitting tickets (when this feature works on their website!) and emailing the owner direct I've had absolutely no response so much to my disappointment I'm now looking to swap to another host.

My web design business is a very small hobby and I mostly host websites for small non-profit community groups who can't afford to pay big $$

So can anyone recommend another reliable host company for a similar price (OK if a bit more) with similar features (eg cPanel / WHM etc). Many thanks

It's too bad to hear that you're not getting any response back from your host -- but it looks like you're making the right move by preparing to move to a new host.

With the specifications of their plans, assuming you're on one of the standard reseller plans they have on their site, you should be able to find a comparable plan with a more reliable host in the same price range you're paying now with no problem as their plans are fairly "standard."

Once you have a list of a few possible hosts, I would recommend searching for them here at WHT and other resources (a search engine can be very handy) and get a good feel of the host and then narrow down your selection.

Hopefully you're able to find a new host and get this all resolved fairly easily!

Some things to keep in mind when finding a new one:

1. Quality of support - do a simple search on them on WHT and see if any dirt comes up on the company you want. Look into the bad stuff and what happened, and if it was taken care of/addressed or not.

2. Pricing - You have to look at what you need, pick two: Cheap, reliable, space/bandwidth. You can NOT have all three. Obviously cheap is a relative term so apply it as you wish.

3. Arrange a phone call - even if you're in another country, someone should be willing to make the call. If they do this and can speak to you about their service, I think they're serious about your business.

I've done some work with their staff and clients and so I emphasize those three points, specifically #2.
