Ok i know this is going to be a stir. Sorry for asking this again. I have been reading so much info here about having a dedicated server of your own and as i am not 100% fluent in Linux i need to ask this. Just for the record i have someone that can install stuff and fix it for me. But after reading all the posts here and people dissagreing and having different views even on the server providers, i would like to ask. Setting aside the security issues etc etc and lets take rackshack as an example ( as due to dollar value its twice as much here for that) If i went and got one of the ensim servers , apart from a billing program and firewall stuff. What else do i really need to have it running as a hosting sever? ( i know that rackshack is not the best) But i must say i have our 3 sites hosted one on plesk and we never had a problem with it as yet). What i am asking in a nut shell what is all the software apart from what comes on the ensim server would i need to install?
If someone could answer it for me so i can get a better idea what i need to prepare for suicide would be appreciate it. Thanks in advance.Slav

Ps just to elaborate here. The reason why ensim - i feel it has better offerings then Plesk as Plesk is too sctrict waht we can have. Cpanel i would love but since this is my firsat project that will not make money to start off with i need to be able to afford it thats why i cant have cpanel.

Well since you mentioned "apart from security", there's nothing else that you would need to install on the Ensim server. When you get the server it's ready to go, you can add clients straight away. Even though I would usually do some testing, make sure it's secure and everything is working as sometimes Rackshack servers could have had problems during installation.

If you don't know what you're doing then don't do it, or just make sure that the person that can help you manage the server is always there to help, since if something goes wrong then you'll want it fixed quickly before all your customers start asking what happened.

Thank you for the quick repsonse. I feel better that its basically ready to go, i was thinking i was missing several extra software steps. Thanks again.
