As a young fella, dad used to take us roo shooting. That's where I learned to drive actually. Isn't it amazing when you look back on what used to be accepted by society 20 years ago and shudder at things like that? :)
edude 07-10-2002, 02:18 PM I use little roo for bait :)

We lived in the Dandenong Ranges and then out at Puckapunyal Army Camp in Victoria, so our experience of Victoria was not a good one. :)

Techark 07-12-2002, 12:05 PM A Texan down under:rolleyes: The only place that would have me is QLD:D
Queenslanders are pretty close to Texans in attitude and style and the Gold Coast looked like a good place to live.
Besides my wife lives here:D

I work pretty much right through the night and grab some zzzzzz's during the day, so the early mornings get a tad cold. But I can't complain :D I used to work in the building industry and there was nothing worse than working on a roof with a 35knott westerly wind blowing up your [place where the sun don't shine] and it being 7am in the morning. That was just plain cruel. :bawling: So my cold fingers now are hardly worth mentioning. :D
Aussie Bob is getting soft. :)

Just wondering, did the brits send their reserve grade footy team over here for last night's footy match against Australia? Or maybe the team they sent was really their laides U18s. :D
edude 07-13-2002, 02:49 AM I guess brits have a better soccer team than the ozzies :P

My moneys on the kiwi's... (OK thats a controversial decision with all you Aussies around ... but I don't care.... :D)
Gonna run for cover lol :D
StevenG 07-13-2002, 05:49 AM Geez it's quiet around here.... looks like the AB's pulled it off lol
More of a soccer score in the end... must have been the cold in christchurch that swung it... :D
AussieHosts 07-13-2002, 12:34 PM Yes, congratulations to the kiwis. We missed the game unfortunately, but I'll be sure to watch the Sydney game. Was it a good match up?
Gary
edude 07-13-2002, 06:50 PM lol ;)
I'm a soccer fan, wierd aussie who supports soccer ;)
StevenG 07-13-2002, 07:14 PM Yes , according to this, backs up the weather story.... better luck in Sydney guys.... no much of a dramatic game...
It wasn't pretty but the All Blacks have ground out a 12-6 win over the Wallabies in the opening Tri Nations and Bledisloe Cup clash in Christchurch.
The All Blacks led 6-3 at halftime.
Andrew Mehrtens scored all of New Zealand's points in miserable conditions at Jade Stadium, booting four from four shots at goal.
However Australian centre Matt Burke's radar wasn't quite as accurate, slotting only two of his four attempts.
"All Black coach John Mitchell says it was a gutsy effort from his players.
The defence in the last ten minutes was particularly impressive from the All Blacks, who were reduced to 14 men with eight minutes to play after centre Mark Robinson was sin-binned for an early tackle.
Andrew Mehrtens says an outstanding defensive effort paved the way for the win, and the wet and cold conditions meant kicking for territory was a must.
He says while the wingers didn't have many chances with ball in hand, they made up for it in other areas.
John Mitchell blames the weather for the stop-start nature of the game and reckons a return to afternoon test matches is needed. "
Yes, I know this is not "The lounge" hang loose :D
Aussie Bob 07-13-2002, 08:08 PM We shall extract revenge in Sydney :D Just bring it ;)

Brisbane appears to be very uninterested in the world's premier code, and I don't think Melbourne/Sydney are far behind (in terms of numbers/ratio). Whereas Perth is very focussed on soccer (again, considering the population), largely due to high percentage of ex-Brits I guess.
My whole family has a long history in soccer. I gave up coaching this year, but my son is still kicking goals.
Regards
Gary
It is really quite amusing how a topic regarding Aussie Resellers has now developed into a discussion about Soccer.
I'd be surprised if community interest in Soccer extends much further than schoolboy matches on Saturday afternoons, in Brisbane.
Melbourne is pretty keen on soccer. But I'd say that they've got the climate for it.
In Queensland, there's only one (two codes, I think we all know which one is best <cough>Union</cough>) sport - Rugby. I for one am glad that AFL didn't take off here.
StevenG 07-13-2002, 08:51 PM Getting back on track, I remember now, it was a while ago I contacted Gary about some co-lo's providers within Oz, great guy, great advice and one of the web hosting industries 'Good Uns'
Keep it up Gary and the guys.....
AussieHosts 07-13-2002, 09:06 PM I agree there Richard. I played Union from '82 till '97 and only really got interested in League when posted to Brisbane in '96.
Thans for your kind words too Steve.
Gary
NexDog 07-14-2002, 10:53 AM Got to chime in as Melbourne is seriously under represented. :D
This pom is right at home with this weather. ;)
