View Full Version : Registerfly : Cheater
BESTHOSTZ 04-13-2007, 07:47 AM I have registered a domain name under registerfly . when i complete the payment and done checkout and again login to my account , i saw there is no domains in it. in my cart is also empty and my money deducted from my paypal. When i looked up the whois info , it seen that domain is still under my name , i submitted support tickets , emailed many times , but no answer from them in return , they took my money and in my view they are nothing more than a cheater.
davevad 04-13-2007, 08:24 AM I wouldn't use Registerfly, they have big problems now.

Techno 04-13-2007, 09:13 AM You can get your money back from PayPal.
tsj5j 04-13-2007, 09:30 AM You mean you missed the Registerfly scandal?
Their rights to being an authorized ICANN registrar has already been revoked.
I would do a chargeback for whatever Registerfly charged you and then go and register your domain at www.NameCheap.com
BESTHOSTZ 04-14-2007, 12:38 AM You can get your money back from PayPal.
is it possible? how? can u plzz tell me in detail is there any method to get my money back?
mydDOTin 04-14-2007, 12:58 AM Simple, contact your credit card company and tell them whats happened,
I have had a problem now for 2 months trying to register one domain, still after 2 months no responses to my support tickets, and no luck getting my money back
I am glad i use Namecheap for domains now
zoobie 04-14-2007, 05:23 AM just go to paypal and file an item not received then escalate your claim in 3 weeks...they'll give you back your $
elmister 04-14-2007, 08:19 PM if the domain was registered, don't do a chargeback, or you'll lose the domain, if your data is in whois, don't worry, registerfly support can add the domain to your account, also, when registerfly finally loses their accreditation on April 30th, the domain will be transfered to a new registrar and you'll have access to it, but if you do a chargeback RF will change whois details, and you will lose the domain, after 30th, if you want to make a chargeback you'll have less risks
Dan541 04-14-2007, 11:36 PM when registerfly finally loses their accreditation on April 30th,
They already lost their accreditation all domains should have already been transferred.

Do you mean it's a new registration? And the whois (which whois?) shows it's registered? May I ask which REGISTRAR is listed in the whois?

Unfortunately they're still accredited:

This is an update on the termination of RegistrFly as an ICANN accredited registrar.
As was previously advised ICANN sent a notice of termination to RegisterFly effective 31 March 2007
Under the agreement RegisterFly can initiate arbitration challenging the termination.
RegisterFly has decided to do that and has notified ICANN.
That means the termination has to be stayed by at least an additional thirty days.
Consequently there will be no bulk transfer to another Accredited registrar until further notice.
Fifteen days and counting.
xpguy 04-15-2007, 10:19 AM I find this surprising how they can still cling on for dear life. Everyday its getting worse too, I don't know how it got this bad.
I am happy that i never looked at them for any reason. i would better say to look with godaddy or namecheap.
xhackr 04-15-2007, 08:19 PM Unfortunately they're still accredited:
Even Registerfly deserves due process. If ICANN had any sense of urgency and executed timely, this would be old news by now.

Whoever wrote the Registrar agreement deserves to be shot.

Actually, that it includes clauses for registrars to contend its (ICANN) unilateral decision alone deserves some praise.
