Ok, here's the choices:

Leave thread thrown, or delete all non-server realted (ie: venturesonline/spam, etc. stuff), which either way, pretty much kills off a whole slew of posts.

I had to delete posts made in the advertsing forum, as we try to not touch much of the stuff here, but it really just isn't related to what the thread starter wanted and resulted in, well you know...

So my apologies to the new venturesonline people who took the time to type up their bios. Tomorrow, I'll send the bio back to the posters so that they can re-post it as a new thread.

-and get to putting the thread back here.

When I was looking for a host, the owners general demeanor and professionalism was as important to me as bandwidth. I was drawn to this board more than others because it seemed more objective.

I did not see the thread that was deleted but I would have liked to have seen it. (maybe I'm just curious now)

After looking through this thread http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=5427 I was able to scratch off a lot of prospects from the list.

Yes I understand that sometimes everyone gets carried away and has their "moments". However I do not want to be involved with a host who cannot act professionally in public. So for myself, that thread was an important decision maker.

The way in which Chicken and the moderators handle mud slinging is up to them, and I know it isn't an easy decision - it's probably more of a headache for them. I for one would like to see the mud in order to determine which hosts can come out the cleanest ;)

Afterall, you can't argue with the facts.

Kirk, why does this crap always happen when I'm at the board? :)

Yes it's a headache and although I personally feel that a Flame Forum is needed (call it a Hot Topic Forum, or whatever), due to the fact that if threads/posts cannot stay within the rules they shouldn't be just moved off into a place where anything goes.

I realize that there is a need (or want) by some people to see what happens with these threads, what is posted, etc. Some of it is done by trolls though and we can't allow trolling.

Hard to make the call on most of it. Either we end up killing off some decent conversation in the process or we all the thread to go off the deep end and both options annoy on group equally.

It's hard to preserve the flames so you can see them, *and* preserve the integrity of the board at the same time.

I understand the problem and you can go ahead and delete this post and mine. I will let everyone know who I go with later.

I'm in favor of you removing all non relevant information from 5905 and putting it back online.
