Hello,

Sorry if this has already been posted. What would you experts recommend to use as a free (or cheap) Virtual Private Server software? I've heard Virtuozzo is good, but then again its $999.99.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The question comes down to what you want to offer your customers. We evaluated all our options and chose to launch with Virtuozzo. The reason is the management tools combined with long-term history.

I would recommend openvz or xen with hypervm. The only thing with hypervm is the GUI but they are planning to be better than virtuozzo, they are cheap, and are getting better all the time.

HyperVM also doesn't support Windows for Cross-Platform, nor can it on the VZ Side. Supposedly they have it slated for 2.0 for Xen, but I gave up waiting on 2.0.

And VZ 4.0 is supposed to be out sometime this summer which will include managment tools for Xen, VMWare, and more supposedly.
