View Full Version : Web Based Phone
Khanjani 04-11-2007, 04:03 PM HI Guys,
I`m a newbie in VoIP ;)
I Want to have a US Phone number which allow us answer the phone when we are online, (A Web Based phone system)
Do any company provide this?
If yes, please tell how we can use it?
Really we want to answer phone calls from internet not to answer them from a phone, so this will allow us to answer the calls worldwide,
Call transfer is not a good idea about this,
If you are saying about Call transfer, do you know any company provide transfer to IRAN too?
- Hamid :agree:

lorem ipsum 04-23-2007, 07:47 AM Sorry for the off top, I was just wondering if skype and Voip are the same things?
Vinayak_Sharma 04-23-2007, 09:17 AM VOIP is Voice over IP, so whether its Skype, Vonage or any other provider they are same, but then it also matters hows the quality of Voice/Call.
Bashar 04-27-2007, 05:56 PM ringcentral.com would be your best service if you're in states
Khanjani 04-28-2007, 11:34 AM No, i`m not in US,
Some of our staffs are in IR, some of them are in US, Some others are in IN, and...., So we require a WEB BASED phone to answer calls via a messenger,
Skype looks nice, and really cheap.
Does Skype charge per minute too? or 38$/y is the only fee?

Khanjani 04-29-2007, 04:26 AM WOW, 38$ for unlimited connection is a dream :), So i`ll try Skypein,
Thanks guys,

BigTom3007 04-29-2007, 07:53 PM 38/yr is only for unlimited through US and Canda, you need to pay per minute outside of those areas. The UK is only $0.03 a minute.
Khanjani 04-29-2007, 11:56 PM You mean if a person call your phone from UK, you`ll be charged for each minute? and when you receive calls from US, you`ll answer the phone and talk for free?
What is the diffrence between US and UK or others for them?

as i know skype do not charge per minute(you have to buy skype in service) for receiving call no matter where you are cos you answer the phone from your computer
biggedon 05-11-2007, 08:07 PM hmmm
i bought a pc package that was advertised on tv back in 2002.
it came with a bundle of software and games including an installed "yap phone" program. with a usb plug-in phone
i was making free calls back then, but it had a slight echo.
haven't even thought about it, till i saw this thread.
wonder if it still works?
faltboat 05-19-2007, 03:16 PM skype is free for skype-to-skype calls.
if you have skype in you can RECEIVE calls for free on your skypein number. if you pay the unlimited fee, you can MAKE unlimited calls to the us and canada.
making calls elsewhere in the world, whether you have skypein or not, is charged at a rate per minute.
