There doesn't seem to be much feedback for this comapny, so I decided to see what people think of them. They look good, and their offer would be great for me.

The only thing that troubles me is this in their TOS:
16. Offensive Materials/Content: Use of Priority Colocation services or resources to display, distribute, upload, post,
discuss, or create materials which Priority Colocation deems to be offensive is strictly prohibited. This may
include, but is not limited to: pornography, beastiality, hentai, yaoi, materials which depict bodily harm, hate
related/motivated materials, anti-gay materials, anti-lesbian materials, Ku-Klux Klan related materials,
satan related materials, etc. Now, I am not worried about the porn or the hate ones... but the 'satan related materials' gets me worried. Not that I am a satanist or anything, but that seems a little excessive to me.

I am, by nature a controverial person, and a lot of my ideas are not shared with the rest of the world. I worry that if my site 'offends' anyone over there (and it probably will) they wills shut it down.

I am looking for a host that I will be staying with for a while, not one that I have to worry about content. It just seems that their TOS is a little too infringing on my rights of free speech ETC.

What do YOU think about that?

Then keep looking. It's their TOS, it's your $$$$.

Suggest you ask Myles himself what offends him.

I think he should add something about Anti-Abortion sites. I don't like Anti-Abortion groups or any group that forces their beliefs on others.

Prolife is actually the word.

Are you not forcing YOUR beliefs on others by doing what you suggest? :p

It is their TOS though...they're perfectly within their rights to choose what they will and won't allow.

I just dislike Prolife groups. I could careless if someone keeps their baby or not.

That is, if you want to be able to host some sites that would be outside their TOS, then you are likely just the customer they have decided they don't want to serve. That is their right. Yours is to go elsewhere.

I've seen porcupine discuss his TOS with potential clients, I'd send him a PM or e-mail about it.

Just noticed this thread now, usually people let me know when i missed one, but i guess noone bothered this time :).

I'm sorry if you don't share our views, but after having dealt with previous hosts and posting of materials that are offensive to the general public, i felt it was beyond appropriate to add that section to our TOS. Sites hosted about satanism, killing jewish people, nazi stuff, whatever have you is mostly regarded as illegal (in North America at least), as putting them up i believe qualifies as a hate crime.

If you've got any questions about how far this extends, etc. please don't hesitate to ask, i don't think it's totally unreasonable though, if we can't stick to our beliefs in our own company, then what would we have left?

This TOS should have no effect on your free speech, it is definatly not designed to impede reasonable free speech.

If you choose to speak about how all black people should be killed, and how the jewish deserved to be exterminated, then yes, this will definatly effect your right to free speech, but the saying

<edit, was phrased wrong>"your right to freedom, and to freely swing your fists, stops at the end of another mans nose"</edit>,

free speech is great, as long as it's not abused in a hurtfull manner.

Hope that helps :).

I agree...Priority Colocation is very nice! Fast and responsive! I haven't had a bad experience yet with them.

I have a dedicated server with them and they have been very helpful.

If you wish to know more, or have any specific questions regarding my experience, please don't hesitate to PM me. :-)
