Do you require any deposit upon registration?
How will clients control panel look and where is it hosted? - never seen one yet.
Thanks.
AQHost 07-09-2002, 09:12 AM Hi Bogdan,
Thanks for your reply. The "deposit or not" question seems to cause quite a bit of confusion, so I hope you won't mind if I quote directly from our resellers FAQ:
"There are a number of ways to access eNom's registration services. At the most basic level you can simply log into your account either at eNom's site or at our AQDomains.com site. Once logged in you can register a domain and then "push" it into a sub-account that you've created for your customer. Please note that doing things this way requires a minimum $100 deposit in your eNom account (3% surcharge, so $97 will actually be deposited) from which registrations will be automatically deducted at your wholesale cost. This method is ideally suited to web hosting companies who don't tend to register in volume and don't mind the manual work required.
The more adventurous among you might like to develop an implementation of eNom's XML API. eNom do offer some basic ASP, Perl and PHP scripts that you can use, and these are a good base to start from. If you go down this route you may or may not need to make the $100 deposit - it depends on whether or not you use eNom's merchant services. If you do use their services you will not need to make a deposit. You will pay $0.95 + 3% per transaction and this will be deducted from the price that you charge your customer. The difference will be deposited into a commission account for you. If you choose to implement your own billing then the $100 deposit will be required.
Finally eNom recently released their PDQ product and I feel quite safe in saying that it's the finest "private label" domain registration product on the market. The license is $99 per year so you will want to be sure of doing some volume before going ahead, however the complete automation of your whole registration business makes it well worthwhile. AQDomains.com is a living breathing PDQ site, and we're delighted with it. Aside from paying the license fee, no deposit is required to use PDQ. You will pay $0.95 + 3% per transaction and this will be deducted from the price that you charge your customers. The difference will be deposited into a commission account for you."
As for your question about the client interface, again it depends on which way you do things. If you register domains manually and then push them into retail sub-accounts for your customers, they can log in at the main eNom website to manage their account and domains. If you keep the domains in your account and issue your customers with a management password, they can go to access.enom.com and use the interface there. If you decide to pay to use PDQ, they can manage domains from your PDQ site. If you use RegistryRocket then again they will use access.enom.com
Hope this helps, but if you have any further questions please either PM me or send an email to Sales[at]AQHost.com. Don't want this turning into one long advert, I'm kinda attached to having my URL uncensored :D
Best wishes,
Simon
Simon,
Thanks for your reply. I have PM-ed to you.
Some more offers, please...
ffeingol 07-10-2002, 10:06 AM vano,
I highly doubt you'll find a reseller lower than 7.49. If you do, let us know ;)
And a minor correction to AQHost post on deposits. The $100 minimum is only if you deposit via credit card. If you send a check or wire transfer, you can deposity any amount you like.

I stand thoroughly corrected :D
Thanks Frank, will update the FAQ too.
Best wishes,
Simon.
chimpy 07-12-2002, 01:31 AM aqhost, those are very cheap prices. How can you offer them? Do you have a "big" account with enom and get even lower prices yourself?
I had previously signed up with registerydomains.com and thought they were cheap, but you offer exactly the same thing with even cheaper domains!
How do you do it? Also, if I wanted to "switch" over to you (from registerydomains.com) how could I do that?
Thanks.
AQHost 07-12-2002, 04:32 AM Hi Chimpy,
Thanks for your reply. I obviously can't go into the exact pricing that we get, but yes, it's lower than $7.49 which allows a small profit on each registration. There's no smoke and mirrors, these are perfectly normal reseller accounts - just the same as your existing RegistryDomains account.
There are two options for moving your existing account if you want to:
1) Ask RegistryDomains to send an email to a contact at eNom that I can supply you with giving eNom permission to move your account under ours.
2) We can open a brand new account for you, and you can push names from your old account into the new one. Downside is that you can't push any sub-accounts that you've created.
Hope this helps, but please let me know at Sales[at]AQHost.com if I can help further.
Best wishes,
Simon.
