Hi, I use www.privatephone.com you can choose plenty of local numbers. Good luck.

What do you plan on doing with voicemail if you don't have a phone?

I am sure there are some local companies in the San Diego area that might be able to help you but most charge something since they are providing a service to you and to maintain that service, the companies have employees they pay.

Having a free service, chances are you are going to get what you pay for and if you have a business, you want your phone to be answered all the time without any problems

I am wondering this as well. If a customer of yours does leave a voice mail and requests that you call them back, how do you plan on calling them back to discuss his/her question?

In any case; I've used PrivatePhone and eVoice (http://evoice.com) and both of them provide exceptional service. Now of course with PrivatePhone, that is a sub-service offered by NetZero, so don't be surprised if you get a few e-mail's a day telling you about NetZero and their "terrible"... oops I mean "great" internet services!

HI, yes, I'm wondering that too, but at least with privatephone he can call back the customer, they give 10 calls with 10 mins each per month, if he wants more, he can upgrades to a premium service.

Anyways, use a service like privatephone with friends and distant customers can be cool, but not serious if you want to use it with everybody or even if you're a host!.

Greetings.
