Need help from members who are familiar with mySQL. I was able to install mySQL pkg (from http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com/) successfully into my RaQ4 box. Root password has also been changed via telnet.

My question is how allow users access to mySQL. For example, the owners of JohnDoe.com and JaneDoe.com wants to have mySQL for their domains. Do I go back to the ASP panel and click on "Add new DSN" and type in their domain name in "Description"? If so, what do information do I entered for the following information: 1) Server 2) Port 3) Username and 4) Password

Should I be doing the following steps?:

1) Server -- type in the IP address of JohnDoe.com / JaneDoe.com

2) Port -- left this box blank.

3) Username -- create a new username for the two owners.

4) Password -- create a new password for the two owners.

Any help from this forum is greatly appreciated.

Get a copy of the book MySQL from New Riders (search Amazon.com books--it's the one with the five-star rating). I looks intimidating when you pick it up and browse through it in the book store, but it actually has a very-easy-to-understand tutorial and an excellent section on MySQL administration.

Well from here on out, you can refer to http://www.mysql.com for problems, directions, etc. on how to do this and that.

I'm not sure what you mean.. but I think you mean you want to be able to give each user their own MySQL Database with a username and password. <<ADMIN EDIT: Please email the person directly>> (my bad Chicken)

Also, you will need to install PhpMyAdmin so the users can access their MySQL Database and add/remove/edit tables.. http://www.phpwizard.net I believe is the URL..

If you need help installing it, give me a shout... my AIM is Dim8Web and my Yahoo! Messenger is Dim8Web too..

Good Luck. :)
