Hi,
I need a reseller account which has

PHP(4&5) & Ruby On Rails support.
3GB space
60GB Bandwidth
Approx $5 per month
CPanel & WHM
I already have a reselling account with resellerzoom.com(which I have no complaints about), which has around 15 customers. But they don't have Ruby on Rails support. So my new account will act as a backup as well as a place for ROR hosting.

Anyone who offers these?

Thanks

Ruby on Rails support is offered by some reseller hosts, so you should be able to find some hosts that provide it, but the problem with your requirements is the price.

At $5 for 3GB space and 60GB of bandwidth with RoR support, you're going to have a hard time finding a host that will offer all of that within your budget, or if you do find a host that fits your current budget and requirements, most likely their reliability will not be up to your standards.

I would suggest looking around at a few hosts and see if they do offer RoR support, take a look at their prices, base your budget off of that information.

Good luck! :)

This shouldn't be hard to find, the demand for RoR is rapidly increasing :)

Perhaps make a list of some hosts you like in the offers section and ask them if they offer RoR. Make sure you ask about RubyGems and anything else you might need.

RoR is supported by a good number of hosts but your budget (along with the amount of bw you're asking) will likely limit you to unreliable providers.

. . . Approx $5 per month
I would increase your budget there by 6 to 8 times, for the chance of getting a quality reseller account.

You should be able to get it for around 10-15$ easily ;)

I have to agree with the above in regards to price. There's no way a host can offer your requirements for only $5/mo. If you increase your budget to $20-30 and then you're in business.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

What are your thoughts on fastnext.com.
Looks like one which suits me.
Had a live chat with their sales person.

Thanks

Did some basic questions and got satisfactory answers.
But am still not that confident to go with them unless I find some good reviews.

Ok.. I am done analysing the options.. and it is now Fastnext v/s Site 5.
Site 5 seems to have an edge. What are your thoughts?

Thanks.

Hi!

How did fastnext go?

As others have mentioned, its really hard to find a good host that can offer you reliable reseller hosting at that price. To be able to offer that kind pricing for reseller hosting, more then likely the servers are quite full to be able to make up the difference.

As you can see with Site5, Ruby on Rails is available in that price range, but the problem is that with the specifications you want (including a reseller plan, which the budget of $5-10 alone is too little in my opinion), there are very few reliable hosts that provide what you're looking for, so you're probably going to have a difficult time finding a host unless you up your budget a bit and/or decrease your requirements.

Yea, I'd definatley avoid Site5. I have very bad experiences with them.

Hi,
I have raised my price and put it at $15 - $20 range.
Hope that will be good enough.
I have been researching on the support available to ROR. Had live chats with the sales guys of a wide range of company's. But it seems there is very little ROR expertise with the hosting providers. Is this true ?

Not all true. some company's have little to no expertise with ROR. I would look over your Live chats and see who you like best. Your price range is fine for what your asking.

Check the offers forums aswell if you didnt yet!

Good luck with your search!

vipinc,

The $20 is a little better. Take a look at webkore.net.
