Andrew 07-08-2002, 09:08 PM May not be what you're looking for...but try www.pricewatch.com You can find some great prices on barebones systems. IGobyTerry 07-08-2002, 09:10 PM I think you can customize a computer so that you can get no monitor, no keyboard and no mouse at alienware.com Zutroy 07-08-2002, 09:14 PM mmm alienware. Very nice systems they've got. Marko_P 07-08-2002, 09:27 PM Is it possible to get a dell computer...Just the BOX?? Phrozen 07-08-2002, 10:04 PM To answer your question about Dell, well, you can get it without a monitor, but as far as I know, you cannot get one without the keyboard or mouse. Now by the sound of your posts, it seems you're not comfortable building your own machine. I recommend http://directron.com for any computer parts. You can select the parts you want and they'll assemble it for you, or you could buy one of their pre-configured systems, or you could also just buy the parts and put it together yourself if you wanted. vSector 07-08-2002, 10:54 PM ebuyer.com is good. I bought my system from them. They are uk based. viGeek 07-08-2002, 11:53 PM I Second www.pricewatch.com Every computer in this house, has been asembled from gathering parts from pricewatch. I even bought a barebones system using pricewatch. Couldnt be any happier. Marko_P 07-09-2002, 12:00 AM Anyone know any US based? Well, Houston, TX was in the US last time I checked. ;) http://directron.com is based out of Houston. http://newegg.com is in Cali. Also, http://compgeeks.com, as mentioned above my post, also have some great deals sometimes. Great place (been buying from the for over a year now). :) Heard some "not-so-good" things about NewEgg, nothing too bad, but I just wouldn't order from them IMHO. BC12 :stickout Marko_P 07-09-2002, 04:18 PM Thanks. Does anyone else know more places? okihost 07-09-2002, 04:41 PM I would suggest trying tigerdirect. You can get a decent system ready to go or even a better barebones system for cheap.. Its really easy to install a hard drive and some memory yourself.. Everything pretty much sets it self up.. If you can change the batteries in your remote you can do it.. MoSupaFly 07-09-2002, 05:01 PM Why not just build one yourself? At least you'd know what's going into it. :) Marko_P 07-09-2002, 11:27 PM I would build one by myself but I'm not a big computer expert... Phrozen 07-09-2002, 11:56 PM If you can change the batteries in a remote, you can build a PC. Really, there's nothing to it at all. It takes more time just setting up the OS and loading your drivers than it does physically putting it together. Marko_P 07-10-2002, 12:03 AM Well one time I tried to add RAM to my computer it kind of broke. LoL. So now I just dont want to mess with the computers hardware and all... Phrozen 07-10-2002, 12:10 AM You broke your RAM? Stay away from my house! :D Perhaps you may be better off buying a pre-built system, or maybe you have a friend of relative or someone who could help ya out? Marko_P 07-10-2002, 12:13 AM LOL my computer broke... Studio64 07-10-2002, 01:04 AM Originally posted by Marko_P Well one time I tried to add RAM to my computer it kind of broke. LoL. And he works for a hosting company... PulseHost 07-10-2002, 01:12 AM Originally posted by Studio64 And he works for a hosting company... heh :D He is just handling few marketing issues.. Marko_P 07-10-2002, 05:49 PM Hey don't make fun of my hardware skills...if I had any. I'm more into software....Programming. MoSupaFly 07-10-2002, 08:36 PM Tell me what you need... I'll tell you how much it'll cost... you pay me... and I'll build you a computer you can call your own. :D I'll even take pictures of the building process... kinda like watching your PC grow or something. hehe :) Marko_P 07-10-2002, 11:12 PM How much do you charge for labor? BrianF 07-10-2002, 11:21 PM Good lord whatever you do don't buy from tigerdirect! BEFORE YOU BUY FROM THEM CHECK THE BBB AND RESELLERRATINGS.COM!!!!! They divulge your credit card information to a calling card company. Search the anandtech forums for more information about that. Brian Marko_P 07-11-2002, 12:18 AM Thanks of for the warning. :) web docta 07-11-2002, 12:26 AM Go the the AMD Motherboard Forums (http://www.amdmb.com/) . We'll help you out :) MoSupaFly 07-11-2002, 01:41 PM Honestly... if you do go the route of asking me to build a computer for you... I wouldn't charge any labor. I do it out of the joy of building them. hehehe. But if you're interested... feel free to pm me... we can talk about it... or at least try to help you figure out what to look for. :) edude 07-11-2002, 01:42 PM :agree: compgeeks |
